another five star day of exploring the forbidden city, high tea at the Waldorf, first time foot reflexology, and a lovely dinner at the highest restaurant in Beijing! I am getting quite exhausted though from a combination of the air, the heat, and getting over 20K steps most days! 😱
This static stretch is one of my favorite back stretches. Do this before your workouts. After workouts. Mornings. Before bed. I mention in a earlier post that most back pains come from your hips being too tight. Just a reminder. Complete each side with a 1 minute hold. The goal is to get to 3 minutes each side.
Let’s get you into this stretch. Lay flat on your chest with your arms stretch out to the side. Make sure your hands are palms down. Extend your right leg straight. Cross over your left leg by shifting your leg towards your right side. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• When you work out, lactic acid builds up in your muscles. This often leads to muscle soreness and fatigue. Stretching after a workout helps to reduce muscle fatigue. When you stretch after a workout, your muscles are warm and you benefit from increased blood circulation.

My own physical training hasn’t been a priority for a good while! Iv still exercised regularly 2/3 times per week but not with any real structure or content. Iv spent a long time trying to set myself up financially so running 3 different businesses has always took priority, iv had the time to train, just not the brain power to focus on it. But thats life, without work and income i wouldn’t have the opportunities for other life experiences. Swings and roundabouts! Dont let it get you down, just keep your eye on the light at the end of the tunnel. Anyway, things have levelled out a little bit, giving me abit more mojo for my own training! This is 120kg, 5kg off my lifetime PB. Yes, its a failed lift, but a test to see where im at. Im pretty confident ill be back in PB territory within a month!
This past weekend was a BIG one for us!
Dads day & my little girl turning TWO. I mean would you look at them together? 😍
I really tried to unplug and be in the moment this weekend, but I wouldn't be me without a fathers day, post.
When I was a little girl I remember waiting for the moment my dad got home from work. It was the part I looked forward to almost every day! He was a full-time teacher in the ChicagoPublic Schools, a coach & owned a business.
Seeing all that he did for our family pushed me hard to be better than myself. He saw my potential and refused to let me be lazy.
The best thing about him is that he has always been my voice of reason. Literally the only one person that can calm me down in seconds and just let me talk & feel what I need to feel without judgement. He isnt perfect & he owns it. And he is always there for me when I need him most. And I mean, always.
Now that I'm a parent myself I see how much you sacrificed.
You can calm my daily storms with just a few minute conversation. I love that you are in my corner. No matter how stupid or stubborn I can be. You taught me to rise when life knocks me down and because of you I am strong. Even in my 30's there are still times that I need and want my daddy. That's a huge compliment to you.
Thank you for seeing me, seeing my potential, supporting me and always being my biggest fan. Ava sees it all in you, too. Shes so lucky to have you. So eat your freaking vegetables, drink your GD shakes and lay off the white castles. 😂
We need you around for as long as possible.
