Been a weird year for me. TBH I really didn't have any goals for this season. mainly it's been, do what I can, race what I can, and enjoy it. This has been by far one of my most relaxed racing seasons. I had an ok spring with a few top 10 and 5 finishes in Cat 1/2 crits which made me pretty happy! But after the last RATL in May, I was hit by a car and it has been a bit different since. Still trying to gain back my nerve.
this year I wasn't feeling the greatest. Type 1 diabetes, like normal in the summer, is hard for me to control well. So My blood sugar had been up and down all day which was really messing me up. So I said to myself, I'm just gonna send it in the beginning. I had no doubt it was silly and I knew I was gonna get caught and most likely shot out the back, which I did. But the feeling of being in the front with everyone chasing you and the fact that I was in charge of the race made me happy, even if it was short lived. This made me hungry for more. I'm looking forward to the upcoming races, mtb Nationals and cyclocross season that's upcoming.
