Hey my dudes, how’s everything going? I’ve had a really good weekend, me and my two best friends had a barbie princess movie night, and then today I watched avengers endgame (I know I’m so late. 😂). I have still not recovered from it, it was so good and I was crying so much. 😭😭 I’ve finished the help, and have now started reading legendary, but even though I’m a third through I feel like literally nothing has happened, although I guess that’s because the caraval games have only just started. I really like how the point of view has switched to Tella though, she engages with other characters more so I think I like her more than Scarlett, she’s more interesting to read.
Book review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Help
So. Five years after I was given this book for Christmas and I have finally read it. It was so good, I wish I had read this as soon as I got it. The three different perspectives work really well and usually I find with books from different points of view that focus on specific characters that I skip stuff to read about the characters I prefer, but not with this book! I wanted to know about all of them, and how certain character sections were left on cliff hangers worked really well. This book was really informing as well, I guess it didn’t fully occur to be (as an English person who doesn’t know much about America) what America was like in the sixties. I knew it had really bad racism and that there were lots of protests, but I guess I didn’t realise people still had maids and picked cotton? So it’s really helped me understand everything a lot more. I definitely recommend it, you need to read it if you haven’t.

😊👑💝😊👑 So I read the Wicked King. I enjoyed reading more strategy, politics and secrets between the characters. The addition of the mermaids is great worldbuilding. I'd like to read the Lost Sisters before the Queen of Nothing comes out later this year. 😊👑💝😊👑 QOTD - Have you read the Wicked King and what did you think?
⭐⭐⭐ (3 stars)
It was an easy and quick read. I didn't find it insulting or a waste of time. 🌈
Still, I found the characters... baffling? not relatable? hard to understand?
Perhaps it's me reading this as an adult or maybe it's because the characters are from the US, or because it feels so much like a film instead of a book. Maybe I'm just not supposed to understand the characters and their choices and struggles. I just don't know.
I can't put my finger on it.
In the end, while I can't think of anything specific wrong with it, it feels artificial and I personally would not pick it up again, even though I do think it has reread potential.
I would give the authors another shot, though. I really enjoyed the writing style and flow.

Book 4, the final book in the Unseelie Court series will come hot on the heels of Wolf's Mate. And baby do we mean hot!! Cover and title reveal on Midsummer, one week from tomorrow!!
Welcome to my happy place 💕
What’s your perfect reading scenario? Mine is definitely in my bed, on a bright and mild breezy day with the window open, with my cats by my side.
Happy Sunday friends!! Wishing y’all a lovely day😊
Just started At the Wolf’s Table last night - I like it so far, but definitely too early for a more concrete judgement📖What’s cool is that it was originally written in German (sometimes I think about how many more books I could read if I spoke another language, it would be SO COOL A WHOLE NEW WORLD OF BOOKS TO EXPLORE)

“Across a Broken Shore” by Amy Trueblood was heartbreakingly, beautiful.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
“The last thing eighteen-year-old Wilhelmina “Willa” MacCarthy wants is to be a nun. It’s 1936, and as the only daughter amongst four sons, her Irish–Catholic family is counting on her to take her vows—but Willa’s found another calling. Each day she sneaks away to help Doctor Katherine Winston in her medical clinic in San Francisco’s Richmond District.
Keeping secrets from her family only becomes more complicated when Willa agrees to help the doctor at a field hospital near the new bridge being built over the Golden Gate. Willa thinks she can handle her new chaotic life, but as she draws closer to a dashing young ironworker and risks grow at the bridge, she discovers that hiding from what she truly wants may be her biggest lie of all."
Amy Trueblood has made history come alive in this breathtaking book. I truly felt transported to 1936 San Francisco; from the streets of the city to the construction site of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Willa’s struggle between pleasing her parents by becoming a nun or pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor was extremely relatable. She quickly becomes a character that you absolutely love. Her character development in this book is what I wish all characters have. You see her find her strength, voice and fight for what she wants in every chapter.
I smiled, gasped, cried and cheered the entire time I was reading this book. This book is what every historical fiction book should be like. It stayed true to the history all while painting a new perspective of these characters lives and dreams. I would recommend this book to any historical fiction fan.

Any of you book dragons ever beta read for friends?
I’ve been lucky enough to beta read @jm_hackman
’s finale to her Firebrand trilogy.
I’ve read 75%, and I have admit, I want to linger over this last little section. I’m bittersweet about this series ending.
On one hand, it’s been amazing to watch Brenna grow from gawky teenager who discovered she could shoot flames from her hands to a mature young woman who’s dominating her Firebrand talents.
And I love her and Baldwin!
But on the other hand, I don’t want to finish! I want to stay in the beautiful realm of Linneah forever!
What’s a series you found hard to say goodbye to?

Happy Father's Day! This is totally unrelated but I just wanted to share a pic of one of my favorite books, Enna Burning by Shannon Hale. Isn't the cover stunningly gorgeous (and so is the prose! ) .
What is one of your favorite book covers and why?
is They Both Die at the End by @adamsilvera
, this was the first novel I read from Adam and I immediately fell in love with his stories! -
This novel made feel all the emotions put together, mostly a lot of love and pain. This couple was so perfect adorable because they were an obvious pairing, with different likings but somehow worked together in the end. It was also so very heartbreaking, ugh I cried so much!!
Sunday funday 🌿 Who are your favorite fae? I am a sucker for Cardan and the ACOMAF inner circle. I’m currently sitting on my Cardan pillow looking at Rhysand fan art 😂 It amazes me that so many authors can write about the fae and have so many different takes on it. I would love to hear some books that I’ve never heard of or read! #gimmehighfae
Book 22 of 2019: Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan.
A girl who can speak to the gods. A prince who can trust no one. A boy with a dark secret. Three paths that must come together to assassinate a king and stop a war. Magic, murder, mayhem, and a dash of forbidden romance (ugh, I’m so mad the alliteration had to stop).
Well, I finished this book. There were several times I thought I wouldn’t. I’d heard a lot of buzz around it, and my own friend @sparklepantzs
even gave it five whole stars. It had murder. It had mayhem. It almost shamelessly lifted plot points directly from the Grishaverse. This book should have hit the mark, but I just found it incredibly boring, predictable, and “meh.” I WILL SAY, I found the writing to be quite good. But beyond that, I don’t have much of anything kind to say, and I don’t anticipate returning to this world. I hate when a book and I don’t get along!

✨ What are some of your favorite underappreciated side ships??
I don't know about you guys but for me when it comes to ships it's the more the merrier 😂😂
And so whenever I'm reading or watching something I'm almost always shipping some of the side characters as well as the main ship, and I get so happy when they end up together even though the main ship usually overshadows them 😅😅😅
And in some books I adore the secondary ships more than the main one *cough* Kenji and Nazeera are still better than Warenette imo *cough*🙄😂
And Simon and Izzy are the superior ship in The Mortal instruments and you can't convince me otherwise 💖💖
Some of my other favorites are : - Nesryn and Sartaq in Tower of Dawn (who are technically secondary to another secondary ship I adored in TOG ,Chaol and Yrene)
⠀⠀⠀ -Leo and Calypso in The Heroes of Olympus ⠀ - Despina and Jalal in The Wrath and the Dawn
⠀- Charlotte and Henry &
Sophie and Gideon in The Infernal Devices ⠀⠀⠀
- Nesta and Cassian in ACOTAR ⠀⠀
Let me know who your favorites are and
p l e a s e gush all you want, I'm always on the lookout for new ships😍😂
Hope you all have a great weekend 💕

Happy Sunday All 💜
I have had the pleasure of just finishing this beautiful series. Have you read it yet? I highly recommend it.
Quick little introduction to this series: A princess flees from her wedding day and arranged marriage to start a new life in a far away little village. What she doesn’t know is that two men are on her trail- one the prince she left jilted and the other an assassin sent to get rid of her.
My favourite book of this series was the first one. I really enjoyed following Lia’s journey and also the mystery of figuring out who was who.
