Spotted this guy on a drive thru Yellowstone. The lighting was just incredible
Who doesn't love a good road trip? 🚙🏞 In September, 29 Parks, Tourism and Recreation Management seniors took a four-day field trip to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem Conference in Big Sky, Montana, which addressed social-ecological issues facing the landscape, as part of their capstone field course. They then spent time in Yellowstone National Park applying those concepts in the field - from trail impacts to visitor experiences to human-wildlife interactions. They also met with the U.S. Forest Service to discuss their work in the region on national forests and their partnerships with gateway communities and then rounded out the trip with a stop at Quake Lake Visitor Center.

A mess of clouds and steam
Like footprints of a giant in a radioactive wasteland.

What makes Yellowstone special is not just the incredible wildlife that call this great wilderness their home, but also the incredible contrasting landscapes that are on display throughout this spectacular place. This ever-changing oasis delivers some of the most incredible landscapes you will ever see. As much as the legendary bison that call this beautiful place home, Yellowstone has become renowned for its many geysers and hot springs. Boiling, bursting and ever changing, these iconic tumultuous fixtures have made Yellowstone one of the most unique places on the planet. They are an incredible sight to behold, their sublime almost other planetary colors are only amplified when painted by the ever-changing light that illuminates this gem of a place. And ultimately that’s what Yellowstone is, a true gem of a wilderness, illuminated by the many sparkling geysers that adorn this great wilderness. When one spends time in Yellowstone you are left with the simple notion… Oh how incredible this earth is.

Have a magnificent Monday!
Mother Nature once again has taken our breath away with this exquisite artwork - Turquoise Pool in Yellowstone’s Midway Geyser Basin reflecting the beauty of the sky in its deep blue surface. Yeah, I did spend 20 minutes staring at this, making my family quite impatient, but it had to be done! To me, wanderlust has never been about the number of countries or parks you have visited, but rather about the special connections you have made with our beautiful world! ✌🏼💙🌎
Living so close to Yellowstone has given us plenty of opportunities to see wildlife. We love seeing any of the animals, really. Pronghorn, also known as “speed goats” around here, are actually the fastest land mammal in North America. What are your favorite animals to see in the wild?
You get a workout in national parks! We had to park kind of far from the entrance to Mammoth Springs and there’s lots of stairs and climbing. It’s a really cool stop and something to see.
