El cuerpo claramente me está pidiendo un descanso. Estos días me sentí muy mal del estómago. Parece que hay algo que no estoy digiriendo muy bien. Tendré que estar más atenta y poder decir cuando algo me molesta. Nunca se guarden las cosas por miedo a... Cuidense y traten siempre de crear un ambiente armonioso alrededor suyo para estar bien ustedes. Rodeense de gente amorosa que no tenga miedo de demostrar cariño y que hable lo justo y necesario. Personas que les den un lugar para expresarse sin miedo a que se alejen por uno no ser suficiente. Amense y eso requiere un trabajo 24 horas de escucharse. Tuve que hacer un descanso de las asanas (excepto #baddhakonasana que es buena para la digestión) pero leí un poco. 🍑 Let’s Talk Weightlifting ✨ _______________ When I first started lifting weights, Instagram was where I looked for everything! Of course it was great at the time - I was learning SOMETHING and I was MOVING🙏🏼☺️ That was about 6 years ago. And only this past year, I feel I have learnt the most about technique, training styles, and how to apply exercise science into my routine DAILY🙌🏼💛 I’ve realized how much misinformation has been flooded over social media about technique and form... For example: 1. Don’t let your knees pass your ankles in a squat - WAIT WHAT?? 👉🏼 everyone’s body is not built the same way. I have longer legs, longer femurs, so my knees naturally go over my ankles and where I go in my squat is what works best for me. People with shorter legs may find it easier to keep their knees tucked back. Find the best position that works for you 2. SQUEEZE SQUEEZE SQUEEZE THE GLUTES! 👉🏼 look, I’m all for this but we forget to mention squeezing everything else in order to protect our lower back. Don’t JUST squeeze your glutes - activate your core (back and Front) and keep your pelvic floor slightly tucked if not neutral. 3. WEIGHTS WILL MAKE ME BULKY!! 👉🏼 oh my lawd😭🤦🏼‍♀️ bulky is INCREDIBLY hard to achieve. Your caloric intake has to be so much higher (cals in vs cals out). Building muscle mass will overall make you leaner - depending on what your diet is like (HINT: 🥗🌰🥜🥑🍑🍍🍇🍊🍌🍅🥕🍠🍳🥒🥝) _______________ Moving on if you’ve made it this far 😂🙌🏼 ✨HEX BAR✨ The hex bar is a great alternative to doing back squats. Depending how you focus on the movement with it, it will either be squat or deadlift focused. Here I’m focusing primarily on my squat. The underneath one is of today and the previous one taken in Dec 2k17,I feel my yoga toes have become more firm and my hammies n gluteus have also tightened and become more aligned vis a vis d earlier me.My hips have opened up and my left arm can reach a lil more further away from the left leg. On day 3 we are doing donkey kicks in the middle of the room for the #jumpintoinversions challenge. I had never attempted donkey kicks in pincha, so I had another first in this challenge 🙋🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️👊🏼. Starting Thursday, February 22, this challenge is designed to help you find your float and get over the fear of a.) jumping forward on your mat, b.) jumping into handstand or any inversion. If you’re confidently kicking up into handstand and ready for next-level fun, then this is the challenge for you!! Sanskrit: जानु शीर्षासन; Janu – Knee, Sirsa – Head, Asana – Pose; Pronounced As – JAH-new shear-SHAHS-anna To begin, sit on the floor with your back erect. Stretch out your left leg all the way from the hip joint. Bend your right knee, placing the bottom of the right foot against the inner part of your left thigh. Your right leg and knee should be comfortably pressed on the floor. Your chest and navel should line up with your left leg. This will set your torso in the right position. Inhale. Extend your belly and torso right up to the top of your head. As you exhale, let the energy flow through the left leg, reaching till the ball of the foot. Inhale and stretch your arms up such that it creates more length in your spine. Then, exhale and bend forward from the base of the hip as if you are coming forward from the groin to the front of the sitting bones. Reach for your ankles or toes, if you can, with your hands, or stretch till you are comfortable. Remember that if you stretch too far, it will tend to round the spine and, in turn, lead to injury. Hold the pose and breath deep and slow. As you breathe, feel the breath filling the groin, the back of your left leg, and the entire area of your back.
