Day 15/40 Morning Sadhana.
Shalom’s school had the day off today so she was my little shadow for Sadhana. :
“Sadhana creates the meditative mind which can absorb all the stumuli in the environment, compute it, and then act wisely instead of just reacting.”
I felt that happening as I did my practice today. I can feel myself unwind, relax and become more myself as my practice unfolds.
This time of year is really emotionally intense for me because it’s both of my kids birthdays and mine.
When I was a little girl, one of the only times in a year that I got to be with my biological mother (and sometimes my biological father too) was on my birthday. It’s so amazing how your body stores things and on the calendar date can bring up old grief or emotions or experiences. I always feel a mixture of deep love and grief on my birthday. I also feel these same emotions on my children’s birth dates. Add on top of that all the expectations about birthday parties and birthday magic - it’s just all a lot for sensitive folk like myself.
Last night I heard a song that I listened to in the hospital when giving birth to Georgio... and just got bowled over by a tidal wave of emotion.
So today, finally getting on my mat and tuning into my wise kind Self was... necessary and relieving. Everything came into focus, and my heart and spirit were comforted.
Shalom climbed into my lap the end and hugged me for a long time. I kid you not, I suddenly imagined hugging her at her wedding day and started crying. 😜haha! 😭Awww these Pisces ♓️ Days of Ours! 💕 so much to feel!
So grateful to have space to feel all the feels. So grateful for this birthday gift of 40 days of Sadhana, which is really just the space to feel the transition of this time of life. It’s really just being a nice kind friend to my little soul. 🙏🥰
