No outside funding, ever. Never in debt.
Always turned a profit.
Showed up an taught week in & week out a minimum of 6 classes a week for 11 years.

Good morning! We're getting this week started right 🌿😌🙏🏼☕
Recently I shared with some of you how my Christmas celebration will look like. That since I moved to the Framkfurt area, we have family here and how we celebrate christmas eve together. There is much diversity because these family members are not spiritual at all; their main focus on christmas is getting together, eating and the gift giving...and they do not feel it to be a christmas dinner, if there is no meat eating involved. Well it all changed. Unexpectantly these family members have made other plans and will celebrate christmas with some friends. This leaves us with an unexpected circumstance and a different plan for christmas eve. One thing I know: it is going to be more casual, less stressful, more Christ centered, contemplative...well, at least that is what I am hoping for. With these changes, my christmas eve will more likely involve: christmas caroling, story reading, a great dinner, a long walk with our dogs, opening gifts, christmas martin (mass) and maybe we watch (on that day or any following day) my favorite christmas movie: "The Nativity Story".
But, as I say, I will stay open to God's will because you never know what is going to happen, after all. But is that not how christmas eve went for Mary and Joseph, who imagined their evening one way, with a nice room in the Inn, and then it turned out another, with Christ's birth in a stable? Be open to changes that come your way. Do not be attached that Christmas has to look one way or another...it is all in God's hand and will and we need to trust Him.

Backbends are by far my favorite class of yoga poses. Not only do they look beautiful but they feel amazing. Plus, they are an important part of a well-rounded yoga practice and there are many benefits of practicing backbends. They tone and lengthen, and increase blood flow around the spine and diaphragm.
I know that not everyone feels this way about backbends and in fact, some may anxious about practicing backbends. And they can be scary and intimidating, much like inversions because they ask that we move our bodies in a way that we aren’t used to.
So what are the benefits of practicing backbends? Here are some of the major reasons to incorporate backbends into your practice:
1. Counteract rounded shoulders
2. Increase mobility of spine
3. Improves posture
4. Boost your mood, relieve stress and wake you up
5. Opens the heart and the mind 🌺 Practicing Backbends Safely 🌺
There’s a lot going on in backbends. Of the three sections of the spine, the lumbar and cervical spine are the most mobile while the thoracic spine is the least mobile. In a backhanding practice, we need to stabilize both the lumbar and cervical region in order to mobilize the upper back.
It’s really important to warm-up well before practicing backbends including the following:
Mobilize the spine in all different directions. Think cat-cow, side bends and gentle twists.Open the front of the shoulders and stretch the front of your chest.Open your quads and psoas. While backbends appear to be all about the spine, they actually require strong and open quads and psoas.Engage your core. Engaging your core is a key part of a safe backbend practice. When your core is engaged (think belly up and in), you protect your lower back rather than crunching it.
