Today as I unroll my mat for the countless time to teach a group of kids, I’m grateful to share the practice yet again to instill just a little piece of mindfulness. It wasnt until 4 years ago, when I started teaching kids & writing my own curriculum that I realized the impact of this work. From supporting kid’s physically & mentally, to providing coping skills, to alleviating anxiety, increasing attention spans, building confidence & body awareness....et al. There is so much we can learn by just tuning into our breath & rolling out our mats! And what a gift to be able to start young. 🙏🏻 #Gratitude

No filters, just 4 weeks of consistency & dedication...I surprised myself this morning. I've never seen muscle in my low back like this!
Don't be afraid of weights, of gaining muscle, of learning proper technique. Don't be afraid to put in a little hard work to get to your goals.
Continue to push through the hard things, keep showing up for you, and the change will come... it may take weeks, months, years... but you CAN do the hard things to win back your health! •
Listen to your trainers when they encourage a certain weight, when they explain technique & where you should "feel" the work happening & where you shouldn't. Trust your mind when it says 'let's push a little harder.' •
Staying consistent with nutrition, enjoying a weekly cheat meal, understanding that dense nutrients will fuel my body with what I need...this dedication to my health... It's all worth it... not just for the inches lost, the muscles gained...this is all for my future self. The me that wants to travel, hike, play sports, run around with my children/grandchildren, enjoy life with my hubby for years to come... this hard work is for her! .

If you know me, you know I'm not really good at faking the funk. To be honest, I haven't really felt like setting up my camera to take any yoga photos. I haven't really felt like doing any physical asana. And so it goes. Ebbs and flows. You know what I never get tired of? Taking pictures of my son. He is just the best.

How I stretch my splits! 🤸🏽♀️✨I normally try & stretch my splits every afternoon and it’s been quite the journey 💆🏽♀️😂 Once I ditched my ego, and picked up my yoga blocks I noticed stretching for long periods of time wasn’t as painful and was MUCH more enjoyable! Sometimes trying to force something isn’t really helping your over all growth. PICK UP SOME YOGA BLOCKS . I got mine for literally $5 at 5 and below . They’re the perfect aid, and they’re stylish . More food pictures, because when I went vegan 5 years ago and vegetarian 7 years ago (note: I no longer put myself in a box...hence the eggs 😂 pasture raised, I might add ☝️) I would have NEVER thought I would eat Kale on the daily. I feel like ONE It is a stereotypical food item that people feel like they "must" eat and enjoy to be a hardcore veg. (Spoiler: you don't have to eat and enjoy everything, yay!) TWO It gets a bad wrap (my whole family basically doesn't get my obsession). It SO versatile! And here is my fave as of lately: stove-top crispy, cajun kale on top of...EVERYTHING (eggs, favorite savory bowls, tacos!) ---
Just heat your pan to medium...massage bite-sized kale pieces with a teeny extra-virgin olive oil, toss in the pan and add Himalayan sea salt and cajun seasoning...takes only 5 min to crisp up like deliciousness.
