Today my breakfast looks like a little party 🎉
Anzeige | new day, new happiness. Many things have changed lately which also means that many exciting things will come. What could be cooler than to revive my creative side for a brand like @yoothie4yoo.
Can you guess what it would be?
Made with real South Australian Strawberries 😍🍓
I’ve had early starts all week for the first time in a while... I’m definitely more of a night person 😭 Apple stewed with cinnamon, almond butter and coconut yogurt oats to get me through 🙏🏼
Swipe to see why I’m facepalming at the BBC headline published yesterday 🤦🏽♀️ Really??
I understand that the media need grabbing headlines but people will read this headline and start to avoid yoghurts unnecessarily. I’m sure all dietitians will agree that patients say to us, “I’m so confused from what I read in the media”. 🤯
What this article fails to explain is that your everyday yoghurts contain lactose, a sugar that is found in milk, so therefore yoghurts are going to have sugar in naturally so it is an unrealistic expectation that yoghurts should be low in sugar; and the sugars that Public Health England really want us to reduce are those that are added to food. 🥛
Yoghurts can be a great low-calorie snack or desert and a great source of calcium so should not be demonised and thought of as a bad food. Yes some are better than others and this is mainly down to levels or fat and levels of sugar but there are plenty of good options out there. Another common thing said to a dietitian is, if you find a yoghurt that is low in fat, it’s high in sugar. On the next few slides I’ve shared a few examples of yoghurts that are low in fat and contain a medium amount of sugar (remembering its very difficult to have a low sugar yoghurt <5g/100g because 5g is roughly what lactose makes up)! So you don’t want to look for “sugar-free”, but you can look for “no added sugar”. ✅
For the final slide I have also added in a normal activia yoghurt ie one that isn’t fat free and hasn’t reduced the sugar in comparison to a 0% fat and no added sugar version. Look at the difference in fat, sugar and calories! 😮

Walnuts, passion fruit and Dorset's answer to Greek yoghurt 👌🏻 Some of you may have seen the @bbc
news article about many yoghurts being full of sugar. We pride ourselves on not adding anything to our yoghurt and we actually lose most of the naturally occurring sugars through our straining process. In fact, our strained yoghurt has one of the lowest sugar contents on the market at only 1% 💪 #breakfastgoals
Loving this yoghurt from Harris farm - one of the few yoghurts out there without sugar! Always read the label and never buy “kid - organic” branded yoghurts as they almost always have sugar as the second ingredient! #hiddensugar #yoghurt #kidsnacks #harrisfarm #yogurt #sugarinyogurt
Look who finally decided to show up to the party
