MEET PETA!! 🌻 @peta_pann
is the latest addition to the Flow teaching team 〰️ you can catch her Tuesday eve and Sunday am!
What is your middle name?
Where did you do your teacher training?
Shanti yoga, Nelson
What is your favourite style of yoga to practice and why?
Having joined the army when I was basically still a kid, and skydiving being my hobby and career for the last 10 years, I kind of bred into myself a bit of an ego thinking that I had to be strong and tough all the time. Power vinyasa was my jam, naturally.
Chronic pain and adrenal fatigue became all too familiar from my lifestyle, so I have more recently learnt to drop the ego, and listen to what the body is craving rather than telling it. As much as I still love a hot and sweaty session, I find myself more often drawing towards yin, restorative and rebalancing yoga now days
What is your self care routine?
Doing yoga every day in one form or another, sleeping and eating well, servicing the body is just as important as servicing a car (massage and chiro keeping the muscular/skeletal system in balance) deprivation tank, and of course a glass of wine! Listening to music that makes your heart happy. Spending time with my loved ones
What advice would you give to someone just starting their yoga journey?
Yoga is a way of life, not just an exercise routine. Ego stays at the door, be kind to yourself, never judging or comparing yourself to others. Yoga practice is exactly what it implies (practice).
Slow down, keep learning and growing and let Yoga guide you along the way.
Name a guilty pleasure:
Wine, chocolate gelato
Do you have a spirit animal?
I think I’m a cross between a lizard (because I love basking in the sun) and an eagle (because I love to fly, soar)
What are you doing when you're most present?
Flying, doing yoga, being amongst nature and being amongst music
