I like making shapes with my body 🌟
"And she truthfully said to me, when I asked for her guidance:
“You know me, Heather. If there's a chance it could be beautiful or enlivening or exciting, why wouldn't you see.”
“From my wild heart to yours,” is the signature of another woman.
“This is why I’m water,” I wrote simply.
“I aspire to be fluid with what comes, and with what goes.”
If you ask me if I’d rather step my feet into all the intensity and power of a rushing river, or the tranquility and calm of a still lake, what would I choose?
Depends on the taste of that moment.
I want to own what I jump into,
knowing it may very well change tomorrow.
By my doing,
But it’s my raft regardless.
And I’m learning how to float,
no matter what." Words & image: @heatherdaya
----- A gorgeous reflection from @heatherdaya
- my dear friend and co-conspirer.
I may just be the why not woman. I suspect @ashlie.woods
signs everything from her wild heart. And Heather is every bit the fluid beauty of water & ink. .
I'm so grateful Heather will join me again on August 11-19 to lead us in yoga for the Journey Into Sacred Expression Retreat @villasumaya.
More than anything, I'm grateful to be surrounded by the likes of wild-hearted, water women who reflect to me my own fluidity.

Just found this little beauty from Bali and it made me smile so much.
I honestly feel like a part of my soul is still there, like I'm not fully present here in the UK because I'm not all here 💫 Anyway, I thought I'd share these thoughts with you on this rainy Friday day in the UK 🙂☔
Don't ever let anyone tell you that your dreams are too big, or that your life is over because you've temporarily had to change paths ✨
I've had nothing but negativity since the day we found out we were expecting our first baby. That all my Bali dreams were over... (rolls eyes).😑
I let it get to me, a lot 😯
But then I remembered.
Why listen to the people who aren't even following their own dreams?
Listen, watch and learn from those who are already out there doing what YOU dream to do.
My biggest inspirations are @thebucketlistfamily
🙌🏼 All of these guys have taken the risk to fulfill their dreams, inspire others and travel the world with their children.
Whoever tells you that your life is over when you have kids got it all wrong. If people say this to you, even if you're not expecting it's usually because they didn't fulfill their life goals out of FEAR and EXCUSES. They didn't follow their dreams out of choice but don't let it stop you. 💫
Remember this: "For what it’s worth: it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again. And if it doesn't work out, so what, at least you tried. But if it does work out, your whole world can change. The heavens smile upon those who chase their dreams"🌙🌌☄

💕 I felt really tired but I stepped on my mat anyway and my practice turned out to be great 😍 Great start of an extra long weekend with lots of family activities, friends, sun and food 😊☀️ Happy weekend! 🤩
I’ve been traveling a bit lately so I haven’t done a ton of physical practice, but I’m moving again today. The beauty though is that I’m still practicing everyday through reading (especially lately) and mindfulness.
I want to share with you about the topic of love today:
Love is being in harmony with one and all. It means realizing your identity with the world. Your oneness with beings. Your oneness with the entire universe. That is love. I think our concept of love has been distorted. We often think that love is attaching ourselves to someone else to where we are dependent upon that being and to where we forget about others. But I want to be all-love, magnetic, all-embracing and serving of others. Let’s love without segregating ourselves. I love you if you’re reading this post!
Who says you can’t have veggies for breakfast 🥦🍠🥕🍳 ??
I’m getting FIRED UP for these weekend classes!!
Fri: 10am, 4:30pm, 6:30pm
Sun: 8am, 5pm, 6:15pm
All at BIG Montrose 😍🙏🌈
Here's a photo of Swamiji during today's Meditation Workshop.
We had a lovely time! One of the beautiful inspirations that Swamiji spoke about was about the importance of being friends with the mind. When we become friends with the mind and learn to understand it we are able to expand our creative consciousness and become liberated from the lower states of mind (hatred, anger, frustration, sadness, jealousy, negativity, possessiveness, depression, and so on) which try to dominate our lives. When we switch on the light in a dark room the darkness disappears automatically. In the same manner, our inner light of joy and bliss has to be switched on so that the darkness can be removed.
Wishing you all a beautiful day!

Energy Habit #6
I've been debating over which habit to include here. This is 6 and I was planning to go to 7, but perhaps I'll add an extra day on. What do you think? Add a comment with MORE and tag two friends. If y'all tell me more then I'll add an extra day.
This habit is a huge source of oxidative stress within the cells and what really irks me is that it is sold as something healthy. Now so far I haven't mentioned food or diet, and there's a reason—I feel like we over emphasize both diet and exercise as the most important aspect for our heath. They are both super important, but I think there is a lot more to our energy then food. As @drjackkruse
says, food is only 1/3 of the fuel per day that feeds our ATP production. The other 2/3 are the Sun. If that's the case then it seems like we focus on the minority of what will make us healthier then the actual majority.
Okay, so this oxidative stress is really at the cause of cellular breakdown, inflammation, sympathetic nervous system activation… So getting your redox down is critical. From a food standpoint I do follow some guidelines and this is one: I stay away from Polyunsaturated Fats (PUFAs). What are they? Vegetable Oils, a.k.a. Canola, Safflower, Sunflower, Corn, Peanut, Soybean, Cottonseed... First off, they're not vegetables. In order to make oil from these seeds, you need to take a large quantity and put them under high heat and high pressure. Then once you heat them, they oxidize. What does that mean?—they inflame your body. Inflammation is an energy sucker.
So why are these so popular? Because they're cheap, and after WWII we had an excess of them because they were first used to make paints and varnishes, but then we discovered how to use oil to make paint. So we began feeding animals PUFAs and they got fat but needed antibiotics to combat their new illnesses. Next was us.
PUFAs are everywhere. At every restaurant. In nearly every salad dressing. Even at the @Wholefoods
hot bar you'll find everything cooked with PUFAs.
So ditch the PUFAs and find good saturated fats like coconut oil, avocado oil, animal fats, or my favorite grass fed #butter
Whether it’s in fitness or life, everyday we can wake up and do one thing that makes us better. Life isn’t a competition with others, it’s about being your best self. #LoveYourLife

I miss this space so much. Obviously because it meant Wiley was at therapy but also just being in the hills away from the city was such a nice escape.

I am grateful to be part of this family, thankful for new experiences, new learnings, and new friends. I am hoping in my own little way, I am able to share the gift of yoga to others and hope to inspire their lives the way it did mine. And so my journey continues, both as a teacher and an eternal student.
“You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
-The Buddha • •
The ever present critical voice in my head wants to comment on my alignment and all the other small details where the work needs to be done. • • •
Instead I’ll say this was achieved out of a deep rooted and growing love for me. For everything I have been, am and will be. This is the first time I’ve made it up onto the wall (the fear of breaking my neck is real, yo). And that victory is enough. • • •

“Keep smiling, because life is a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.”🌺
Don’t sleep on me. I am standing in my personal power, clarifying my boundaries, and growing my wisdom. I feel like I have endless energy and timelessness in this period of going back to work because I’m working with my nature not against. Living in the moment and releasing expectations. Turning my limitations to considerations and defining my values and skills to pursue my passion for people in new creative ways. 📸 @lizzieblaszak
"I don’t have time.”
We are all so guilty of saying this little excuse. I know I certainly have been. I was at a two day training event recently and our host called BS on this excuse!⚠️
How many times do you say: "I don't have time to go to the gym", or " I don't have time to meditate, to practice yoga, to meal prep"...the list goes on 📝
Paul suggested that instead of saying "I don't have time", try changing your language to "it’s just not a priority" - oooof how does that make you feel? I know how it makes me feel! 🙈
Whether it’s someone trying to give you more work, washing the windows or fitting in exercise. If saying “exercising is not a priority” - it really really doesn’t sit well does it? That’s the point. Changing the language reminds us that time is a choice and we can always choose how to fill an hour differently ⏰
I love simple ideas like this. Some truths can be hard to hear but time is limited and I don’t know about you but I don’t want to waste it. This is a good way of figuring out what’s really important 🌟
Today I had such a busy day and I kept telling myself I didn't have time to practice yoga. Instead, I switched my language to "its just not a priority". You've never seen someone get changed and jump on a yoga mat so quickly!! 🤣
Ground down to rise up. 🙏
Sometimes I feel so heavily controlled by my mind which makes it impossible to listen to the quieter voice coming from my heart. But when I chant in Sanskrit it brings a new liberation from my mind which allows me to drop down into my heart.⠀
This Sunday Kirtan Club is back for a special summer appearance. 3:30-4:30pm on Sunday! DM me for more details if you want to come and experience the power of your voice and the vibrations of Sanskrit! ⠀
I love practicing in the Shala in Mysore with my Guru.
It reminds of when I started, the struggles I had to go through to find my teacher way back then when Yoga wasn't hip n cool, and the only ones practicing were the sick and the old.
It reminds me of how I landed up in Mysore asking all the rickshaw drivers how to find Shri. k. Pattabhi Jois, (everything was secret and mysterious back then, the Internet had not taken over as yet!!!)
The first time I walked into the old Shala and sensed the energy, heard the breath and saw people doing things I had never thought possible with their bodies.I felt this was how The ancient Yogis had been practicing Yoga in the jungles and caves.
Till this date, the energy of the Shala invokes the deepest devotion in me, takes me back to the stillness of my soul, the raw intensity and grit that I sense from another lifetime that my spirit longs for, takes me back to the soul of my soul, the search for my connection with the source. Every time without fail.🙏🕉🔯

Energy Habit #5
I have spent years resisting them and rejecting them, and then last 3 years trying all of them. At times I was taking 50-100 pills a day, but times have changed and I seen the light (literally the SUNLIGHT). That with water and cold thermogenesis has changed my supplement plan. I take no more pills. I only take liquid liposomal (for the most part), and only take a tiny fraction of what I used to take. Here is my basic list for you. ⠀
Magnesium - a must. It plays a part in over 300 bodily functions including ATP. In fact it's magnesium that initiates ATP in the mitochondria. There are many different forms of magnesium and there not all that bioavailable to your system. I prefer to get my magnesium in 4 different ways. ⠀
DHA - DHA is essentially what forms your brain. ⠀
Molecular Hydrogen - This stuff is the future. It is like a super antioxidant, anti-inflammatory. It scavenges negative free radicals in the body and penetrates into the mitochondria.⠀
Vitamin D3/K2 - Because it's really a hormone and it interacts with over 1000 genes in your body, not to mention a whole lot more.⠀
Vitamin B12 and Methyl Folate - One of the most crucial areas for B12 is the brain. The brain is one of the highest density of mitochondria in your body.⠀
Minerals - We are made up of them. I prefer to get them from both ocean sources and land. For land I use shilajit. ⠀
Bicarbonates - This could be baking soda, but I prefer a magnesium bicarbonate. I make my own. Bicarbonates, especially mag bicarb, is a major neutralizer of acids in the body and actually carries the magnesium to the mitochondria. It's been discovered to increase lifespan!⠀
Turmeric - I take the most delicious and effective tincture. Anti-inflammatory.⠀
Glutathione - This is your body's most abundant anti-oxidant and with the amount of oxidative stress your body encounters a day, you need to support your glutathione production.⠀
If you want to know more about what and how I utilize supplements and get some discount codes to order just DM me.⠀
I came to yoga because i was sad.
Sad in ways that physically aches.
And along my journey i found that the things that try to break you.
That try to shatter your soul.
The things that claw are you heart as you lay in the dark at night.
That are impossible to put into words.
They are the things no one understands who hasn’t lived them.
And it’s within that that we find the smallest sliver of good.
Within the feeling of gratitude that others haven’t lived it.
And that we should hold on to that sliver.
Ground ourselves in it.
Breathe it in every single day.
Let gratitude take root in our heart,
Spreading beautiful buds of hope to our souls,
Blooming beautifully over time.

Pocit neskutečného štěstí a vděčnosti. ♥🙏😘
Hapinness and gratefulness. My feelings from yesterday evening, when I was coming home from one yoga studio. Without planning it, I have taught my first yoga class (didn't even have time to be stressed, cause I didn't prepare anything 😂🙈). But I stood up on the mat in front of people who came for a yoga session. Although they came for yoga therapy and I made them do vinyasa, they left the studio with smile on their faces. And there's nothing like this feeling. Feeling that you made someone happy, you gave him positive energy. I'm still absorbing those feelings - although it may seem like nothing, for me it was a big step forward. I belive this was destiny and the Universe showed me that I'm on the right path. I'm grateful for the opportunity to start my yoga journey. I wish everyone could feel the same as I do, no matter what is the "kicker" which makes you happy. May all the beings be happy. ♥🙏😘

Journey to 1 handed handstand. Nothing with yoga comes quickly to me. I started yoga after college and missed the discipline of having a sport to play daily. At first I didn't like it. Yoga was completely different than the sports I played my entire life. There was no ball to chase or goal to score. There's no Opponent to out run or perform. Sports always came easy to me, except yoga. No yoga isnt considered a sport, but for me it is, and I'm the opponent, where im at right now is the goal to beat. I excel slowly but practice daily. I've stuck with it for so long because yoga is a life long practice with no finish line. So here's some years long progress I made toward a forever goal.
