I really enjoy this pose but I find it hard to stay in for longer periods of time. It makes me feel extremely vulnerable and letting go seems almost impossible.
Even when I am the most safe I often get ashamed of these feelings of vulnerability. I realized this is a pattern in my life on and off the mat; in Lizard pose or in my relationship. I get scared, ashamed and insecure when I feel vulnerable. I want to hide it.
I am struggling with unlearning how we are taught to suppress our 'negative' emotions and display only 'positive' ones.
I do not like this rating of good and bad emotions. All emotions are fluctuating and valid.
Being vulnerable is ok.
Not always being ok is ok.
Not knowing how you feel is ok.
Power to be true to yourself
Strenght to be intimate in your relationships and
Space to practice self love

En parallèle, le solstice d’hiver symbolise la sortie des ténèbres et le retour à la lumière. Le jour le plus court et le plus sombre de l'année, nous sommes invités à faire appel à la lumière divine de l'intérieur. Les longs jours sombres de l'hiver peuvent se prêter à la stagnation physique, à la fatigue et à l'hibernation. Dans cette séquence méditative, nous honorons la pause avant d’être appelés à renaître encore une fois.
Dans cet atelier nous allons explorer les aspects méditatifs des postures qui nous invitent à rentrer à l’intérieur de nous-mêmes. La séance se finira avec une touche de pranayama et de résonances vocales pour faire vibrer le corps et célébrer l’ouverture de cette saison festive!

Today is Day 1 of the #HyggeYogi
Challenge and I have found comfort in one of my favorite poses, #wheelpose
If you know me at all, you know that winter and I don't get along very well. For the past year Joel and I have been living in the Fernie BC where we had approx 919cm of fresh powder last year!
In the meantime, I dream of the beach and the sand between my toes. I also look forward to all the small Hygge moments that I can create for myself until spring comes back around. I have found the smell of fresh brewed coffee in the morning a lot more enjoyable lately when getting ready for work in complete darkness. It's the little things.
Hygge (“hue-gah”) is a Danish word which means entering the present moment to enjoy the simple pleasures and small things in life while filling your heart with warmth, nourishment, and pleasant togetherness - whether in the presence of yourself or with others.
Maybe you enjoy being fireside, lighting candles, opening a bottle of wine with friends, the smell of coffee in the morning, or wearing your favorite sweater. In this challenge, we will explore hygge to bring coziness, comfortability, and charming moments of everyday.

I started realizing how beautiful I am - and I am not talking about looks, I started realizing my fuckin worth. I am so fire.
Its ok to say 'I like myself', to be proud of what and who you are. How can you expect other people to like you if you dont honor your own value? You are amazing. You are beautiful. You are worth every effort.

🥺 the truth behind why I got a dog..
I grew up with a family of dog lovers with a passion for saving animals from shelters I knew adopting a dog was always something I would do. 🥰
On sept. 9th 2015 I adopted a 4 month old puppy from a kill shelter in Hartford. He was 5 dollars and was scheduled to be euthanized the day I rescued him. At the time he was not the dog I “dreamt” of having but he needed help and so did I.. I needed a distraction, life was not going as planned and he needed a 2nd chance at life.. I know we would be good for each other. ❤️
What I didn’t realize was a month into having him during a play date with his fur cousins he would run into a tree and break his neck. Luckily I had my brother in law and sister when me to snap me into emergency mode.. I was frozen in shock. I can still hear his screams for help from the pain. 😩😩
I sped to the animal hospital while a dog I hardly knew sat in the back seat foaming at the mouth in pain. I was scared out of my mind.. 😢
I waited 8 hours before hearing any word of what happened to my pup. 😞.
🗣” 8,000 dollars on the low end, broken neck, decision now?” .
😳🤭 I signed on the dotted line and shortly after the door slammed behind me and I drove home without the puppy that I hardly knew and made the biggest investment of my life. I was defeated, broken and completely depressed. .
💕 family, friends, people I had never met before donated to me and my sweet pit bull to help us crack a dent in this bill and give this sweet boy yet a 3rd chance at life. I will forever be grateful for every penny. 🙏🏾
🤔what this taught me was in order to truly get past the troubles in your life you need to be proactive and make an actual shift. Benny was my bandaid at the time but ended up being my biggest dose of realty and ultimately my best friend ❤️
Everyday I wake up to his sweet face I see his scar outlined on his neck and it reminds me how far we both have come and how happy I am to have him in my life 🐶❤️

I can't speak for everyone, but for me, being in this #nursingprogram
... the juxtaposition of wanting something so badly and working so hard, paired with a feeling that I'll never, ever know enough... its tough, man. It has stripped away all my bravado, and taken me to an emotionally cellular level where I can see how traumas and hurts from my past still fester and grow. Where scoring a B feels like failure and sometimes my hands shake when I'm going a skill for the first time... And yet, I've never felt more sure that this is exactly where I need to be: that every road had lead me here. Today, I needed to remind myself of what I'm capable of physically in order to show myself... see, Amity you ARE strong. You ARE capable. Anyone headed into #finalsweek
