5. Padma Mudra
Place both hands in front of chest, with base of hands, outer edge of thumbs and little fingers touch each other. Gently spread the index, middle and ring fingers.
You can do this Mudra when you feel lonely, drained out, misunderstood or exploited.
🔹This Mudra helps to calm mind and soul.
🔹Helps to activate chakra at heart, thus increases the loving and compassion attitude towards others.
Lotus rises from unclean water to blossom as a pure contaminated flower. In spite of being in water Lotus leaf is never wet. Dharma comes from the fact that despite lotus growing in muddy waters, it still restores such a beauty.
It also teaches us to perform actions without getting attached to the outcome of action performed and also not to bother about the external factors that might influence the action.
You can practice this Mudra during meditation or while OM chanting. Else you can also hold the Mudra with eyes closed for few minutes anytime in a day. Also you can perform this Mudra in Tadasana or any seated pose.
Always while performing Mudra be aware of fingers, if it’s not done correctly benefits can’t be expected.

💜Progress not perfection💜
Working at our personal max is what matters most. As I age, my body has a blend of amazing abilities (from years of training) combined with limitations. My joints hurt a little, my back aches sometimes, and my energy isn’t what it used to be.
However, at middle age, I’m incredibly grateful to have started exercising at a young age and remained consistent through the years. Always trying new methods of fitness has kept my body strong and flexible. ✨
Beginning CrossFit 3 years ago and recently adding Ashtanga to my yoga practice is setting the bar higher, physically and mentally. Because of these challenges, progress continues.
No matter your age or abilities, work at your personal max. Be proud of yourself. Be thankful for the body you have. It’s your home. Take good care of yourself, friends.

My main yoga job does not have classes this entire week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. So, I find myself with a limited work schedule and lots of free time! It’s time to get caught up on reading for pleasure, planning creative classes without feeling rushed and lots of much-needed downtime!

After a weekend full of Bhakti, teaching philosophy, stories, lifestyle, and Kirtan and mantra, I’m super charged up and inspired.
Kirtan has been such a powerful tool in helping me go inward while being externally stimulated or even distracted.
There’s a metaphor in there about what I observe in myself.😉
Focus on you, while being aware and in flow with the collective whole as well. And don’t let shit trip you up!
It’s not called Jedi mind tricks for no reason.😅
This was the trickiest practice I’ve add in a long time because I had 3 different voices going at the same time😂 you can see my face when I have to pull myself in and center. -

Find the irritation or distraction and lean in with gratitude.💖

Being true to one self🌟 BALANCE
Being true to yourself is a life long practice that requires commitment & re-commitment, moment to moment, as you grow & evolve. The answer to what is true for you always exists at the core of who you are, if you give yourself the space & time to listen. When you are being true to yourself, you are completely honest with what you feel, deeply value & desire. It also means communicating your feelings wholeheartedly both with yourself & others, allowing your truth to flow through you & into the world. To know your truth fully & express it authentically, you first need to cultivate a deep & trusting relationship with yourself. Ultimately, this begins with awareness of your thoughts, as well as awareness of your whole body experience & how you interact with the world each day. You can expand your awareness & strengthen the connection with yourself through introspective practices such as meditation & yoga. These practices help you become more present & establish reference points to identify when you are (or are not) living in alignment with the deeper aspect of yourself. The more you practice, the easier it becomes to self correct when you are out of alignment; in body & mind. Understanding when you are in alignment or out of alignment may often be based on an intuitive feeling rather than a thought. Feelings of openness, expansion, inner joy & freedom are good signs that you are on the right path. Conversely, if you are not being true to yourself, it may show up through feelings of contraction, tension, unease, disconnection, resignation, emptiness, discontentment, or a lack of fulfillment. By learning to pay attention to your deeper senses & feelings, and by cultivating greater awareness in your life, you can establish a strong connection to yourself & feel confident in knowing what is deeply true for you. So it is up to each of us to be courageous in bringing forth our own truth, expressing it fully & authentically in the world. Yoga is incredible for keeping your body & mind healthy. My body is different from hers & this is the best I could do for now. I am happy at where I am and I know that I have worked hard. That is all that matter. Comparison is a thief of joy, hence never compare yourself to others. And most of all, don’t be affected by how others see you or treat you. I know the latter is hard, but we just have to try.
