This morning I woke up to a thin layer of snow on my car, and it reminded me of how much better summer is than winter.
I’ve only been posting Iceland shots since my trip in October. I think it’s time to switchback (get it? these are switchbacks. ok i’ll stop) to some fall shots before the season is completely over and gone. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” @dji Mavic Pro, @sandmarc polarizer β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” #utahisrad #youtah #weRutah #dronefeed #droneoftheday #fromwhereidrone #explorationdrone #lonelyplanet #earthofficial #foliage #djimavicpro
Amazing places like this do exist. And surprisingly all it takes is a little bit of research and a desire to push a little further than most. Get up a little earlier. Plan a little more. Keep some level of fitness up between trips and you can soon distance yourself from the masses that don’t plan, and don’t take it just a little further. Zion Narrows is one of those places. Catch a slightly earlier bus. Get up an hour earlier. Stay a half hour later and you will be shocked how remote you can make it feel.
Fall is holding on by it's fingertips here in the #wasatch .
Every since I was little train tracks have appealed to me - the tunnels that had to be created, the bridges that had to be built, and other just wild imaginative engineering that had to take place in order to overcome obstacles and make its way through. Like this photo of blasted rock wall to allow folks to go from East to West and everywhere between. I think it’s pretty #neat
Check out this great view by @dereksturmanphotography ! With the explosion in popularity of night photography, Delicate Arch can be a crowded place even at night. Patience is rewarded with great captures like this. Tag us in your best Utah photos, or use the hashtag #naturalutah to be featured. Admin: @njensenphoto
One more Lake Powell sunrise. Every morning for 10 days there was another great photo op, & all I had to do was walk a few yards from the houseboat & point my camera in any direction! #wowutah #seeutah #visitutah #utahlove #youtah #onlyinutah #lakepowell #visitlakepowell

Leonid Meteor I got up at 2am last Saturday and headed to the mountains. It was 17F up there, good opportunity to test out my new winter gear and see how acclimated I am to the shift in seasons. Fresh snow blanked everything. Hiking up was plenty warm; standing around the tripods is the cold part. At least it wasn’t windy. Leonids were elusive to my cameras, just one capture out of the several I saw. One of them was a real bright burner and included a vapor trail. I try not to be too disappointed when I don’t capture the big ones, it’s really about being out there and seeing them. Captures are just a bonus. I forgot to rig up some heat on my lenses, so they frosted up a couple of times as sunrise approached. It was a quick trip worth the sleep lost! Did you get out and enjoy the Leonid meteor shower? . #leonidmeteorshower #leonid wms_longexpo #longexposure #longexpoelite #weownthenight #astrophotography #sky_sultans #utah #utahgram #utahisrad #utahdotcom #werutah #wowutah #igdsmember #divine_deserts #nightphotography #nightphotography_exclusive #jaw_dropping_shots #igsouthwest #westbysouthwest #pictureline #youtah #longexposure_shots #nightscaper #capture_the_universe #ig_killerz #wasatch #wasatchmountains
