"Um ... not for you," He said, handing me the beer.
My initial impulse was to throw the bottle in the trash, but the woman looked so offended that I smiled and took a sip. She stomped off, snorting with anger, and I chuckled because Zach seemed to notice nothing.
"Like I'm going to buy beer for some girl at the bar," He said, shaking his head. I lifted my beer and he lifted one side of his mouth in a half smile. "You are different"
I slammed my bottle into his.
"A toast to being the only girl with whom a guy with no criteria doesn't want to get laid." I said taking a sip of the beer.
I couldn't hide the smug smile that spread across my face.
"You think I'm too good for you"
He disdained my second insult.
"I can not think of a single guy who is good enough for you"
My presumption dissipated, giving way to a moving and grateful smile.
"Thank you, Zach," I said, putting the empty bottle on the counter. He pulled me by the hand.
"Come on," he said, leading me through the crowd to the dance floor.
"I drank too much, I'm going to fall!"
Zach smiled and pulled me to him, grabbing me by the hip.
"Shut up and dance."
America and Hunter appeared next to us. Hunter danced as if he was watching too many Usher video clips. Zach almost panicked me at the way he pressed his body against mine. If he used those movements on the sofa, I could understand why so many girls risked being humiliated in the morning.
He held my hip tight, and I noticed that his expression was different, almost serious. I ran my hands over his chest and into his belly, his muscles tightened under his shirt. I turned my back to him and smiled as he gripped my waist. With the level of alcohol in my veins, when Zach pulled my body against his, the thoughts that came to mind were anything but friendship.
The next song started and Zach made no sign that he wanted to go back to the bar. Sweat dripped down my neck, and the multicolored lights made me feel a little dizzy. I closed my eyes and rested my head on his shoulder. He took my hands and wrapped them around his neck. His hands went down my arms. MORE BELOW!
