A year from today on September 20, 2017 was the day I met Jennifer Lopez. She has been my idol for as long as I can remember since the age of 10 back in 2000. I've always been a fan of her music and movies. My dream was to see her perform live. When I found out she was going to have her first worldwide tour (Dance Again) back in 2012 I was so happy. I knew I wanted to be at the concert. Only thing is it didn't end up happening. My grandma had surprised me with a birthday gift to go to Puerto Rico the same time Jennifer would be in Chicago. I was so sad because I wouldn't be around for it. I got a second chance back in 2014 when Jennifer was in the line up at the B96 Summer Bash. I made sure to be there. She had put on an amazing performance that she left you wanting more. In 2017 I went to Las Vegas for her "All I Have" residency at Planet Hollywood. I was excited and nervous at the same time because I would be meeting her. I didn't know what to expect. When I got there I couldn't believe how close I was to the stage. I was at the very front. The day I saw her in Vegas was also the same day Puerto Rico got hit with Hurricane Maria. Jennifer was devastated with what was going on. You can tell in her voice. She was worried for her family and for everyone out in the island. Given the situation she truly gave it her all. From the dancing, her dancers, to the costumes changes, lighting, and set changes. She goes above and beyond! Jennifer is such an inspiration and a hardworking woman. How she carries herself showed me to never give up on my dreams because anything is possible. I'm so proud of all she has done and everything she has accomplished. When I met her I couldn't believe it was actually happening. I told her my name and that I came all the way from Chicago to see her. She was like nice to meet you and said from Chicago!!! I was like yes. She then asked me if I was in the pit all the way in the front. At that moment in my head I couldn't believe she noticed me. I was so star struct lol. I didn't know what else to say. I'll never forget this day. I love her so much! We lowkey matched ❤ #jlovers help me tag @jlo.#jlo#allihave#jlovegas#zappostheater .
