For some reason I decided to rep a white UNT shirt to hike in the red sand, muddy canyon. FEAR NOT! It did actually fare pretty well and I stayed cool! 😎
We are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place! Come experience it for yourself! #applehollow
These last few weeks adjusting to being back home have been even harder than being alone on the road. Travel can give you a false temporary high. I think it’s the curse of the creative. We have these ups and downs that we are all trying to figuring out how to manage. How to balance instant highs vs. longterm inspiration. I don’t have all the answers, I still don’t know how to navigate my creativity, but I’m learning that’s ok.
"How do you deal with not having your own space abroad?" When I was an au pair in Belgium, one day I was talking to the mom about traveling and how much I love it. I remember her making a comment that stuck with me: "I could never travel long term like you do because how can you never have your own space? Your own bed and room. I would go crazy"
I had never thought of it like that. When you're moving around constantly, it's true you usually don't have time to make a space feel like home.
When I moved to Europe, I brought a set of pictures with me. Pictures of moments and people I cherish. And though I never stayed in a place long enough to buy wall art or fancy cushions, I always hung up my pictures, even if it was just with tape. Something to make a strange place feel like home.
What about you? For those that travel and stay in a place for weeks or months at a time, do you do anything to make the place feel more homely? For those that travel long term moving around a lot, do you struggle with the idea of having "your own space"?

Another highlight of our trip was Zion National Park! #april29

Impossible to think negative thoughts in this FUCKING magical place! 😻🙌🏽
When you think things are bad,
when you feel sour and blue,
when you start to get mad
you should do what I do
Just tell yourself, Duckie,
you're really quite lucky
Some people are much more
oh, ever so much more
oh, muchly much-much more
unlucky than you.
We explored all over #ZionNationalPark
, hiking this short, one-mile trek to Canyon Overlook twice during our visit. We kept trying for an epic sunrise shot of the canyon, but we were thwarted both times. Good thing the hiking in the park was so amazing!
I forgot I took this.
I miss the grand-ness of it all.
good, wild, sacred - land identifiers. some places are all three ✨
The view from the top, hikes like today deserve two posts.
Do something that scares you daily!
Today we climbed Angels Landing, a hike I’ve been mentally preparing for since we found out we were taking this road trip. I read countless blogs and watched plenty of videos that would make my hands sweat with fear just at the sight of the 1000 foot drop offs, but I wanted to give it a try, and we accomplished just that today!
See what I realized was the fear I had created in my head was much worse then my reality, and facing whatever was scaring me was much easier then I thought. We made it to the top today, with no tears and some of the most beautiful views I’ve ever witnessed.
What fear have you overcome recently?
We made it back! What an incredible journey. We ended up exploring over 70 locations including national parks, national forests, national recreation areas, state parks, wilderness areas, major hikes, viewpoints, and much more!
We have created so many memories and stories that will be remembered for a lifetime, and I'll be sharing these over the next few months.
If you'd like to know more about how we made a trip like this happen or just want to talk about adventuring, send me a DM! I always love helping you guys get out and experience the great outdoors.
