Stand Down is a one-day event that offers veterans assistance in accessing resources through government organizations, private agencies, and veteran organizations. This is an opportunity for GEPN students, most of whom are new to Connecticut and to health care, to interact with patients outside the acute care setting where they are currently training. This is the 13th year that YSN students and faculty have traveled to Rocky Hill, and many express gratitude for the opportunity to serve those who have given so much to the country. #yale #standdown #veterans #ctveterans #gepn

Last week students in the U.S. Health Justice elective kicked off the semester with a retreat at the West Campus farm. Every fall for the last five years, nursing, physician associate, and medical students have participated in the student-run course that explores how social justice issues such as incarceration, immigration, and food insecurity shape health care. Here, course leader Nnemdi Azubuko '20, demonstrates how to salvage a charred marshmellow before facilitating group exercises on identity and privilege. #yale #yalefarm #ushealthjustice #yalemed #yalewestcampus #westcampusbestcampus #healthequity #socialjustice #nursesofinstagram #nnemdisofinstagram
