How does this new elf leaf look ~?
Vergil joins his twin Dante in our Devil May Cry collection!
Vergil's headsculpt is the vivid rendition of the character with his slick back hair and peircing look. His leather coat and textured pants are created down to the last detail with our Premium Leather while the patterned inner layer of the coast is another feature we can't miss out on.
To match Dante's Rebellion in the fight to gain power, Vergil has to have his signature Yamato, which is made from die-cast metal. In DMC3, he also holds Force Edge as one of his weapons. The demon forged sword wielded by many characters throughout the game is created with ABS to retain all that amazing, sinister design and the metal-like look without being too much a burden for the body to hold.

"That sword was used to separate our world from the demons."
Devil May Cry III's #Vergil
will come wielding not only his signature #Yamato
, but also the demon-forged Force Edge.
Taking the experience with creating Dante's #Rebellion
with ABS,we are using the same material to re-create Force Edge's sinister skulls, spike and the Sparda horn guard to keep the metal-like texture without it becoming too heavy to wield. But we know you are still looking forward to metal weapon, and the samurai sword inspired Yamato will be made from die cast!

In our earliest meeting with the factory, they pointed out that to root-beard the face of the figure, it has to be done with vinyl, a material rarely used in 1/6th character head anymore due to its nature of instability causing deformation during productions. It may get away with products like dolls or toys, but not in collectibles. So we had to think of another way.
In order to root hair on a doll, the surface has to be thin so the needle can sew in. It's why in 1/6th figures, rooted haired characters’ head are done by a separated thin layer of scalp, the hair is sew to the scalp and glued back to the head afterwards. This leads to the idea of a separated layer of face. By taking the face and the scalp both off the head as separated parts, we can root the hair and the beard, then assemble them together into the perfect shape.
This solution became the reason Gimli was delayed for almost a year. This method requires rooting hair even at sampling stage. So we resculpted the head digitally, taking the parts off, and sending it to factory to mold in PVC. Then the hair factory would root the PVC samples for us. The entire process takes up to 4~6 weeks for a single trial, and we did for three times. It was either the likeness was off, or the hair had to be thicken…etc, nothing we could do but to test, fix, and test again, and a lot of waiting in between.
