Charles Whitney Collier, my dad, died peacefully yesterday evening surrounded by family after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s. He was a phenomenal father, friend, advisor, family philanthropy icon at Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Dartmouth, Andover and far beyond in the philanthropic world. As well, he was a skilled hiker and rock climbing instructor (pictured here), professional photographer, college squash player, tennis player golfer, windsurfer, skier and so much more. A memorial service will be held in the fall, in Dublin, NH, near his summer home that his father built and his favorite mountain of all, Mount Monadnock. Much love, peace and respect dad—you were “a gift” as you’d say—we ALL are so grateful for the 70+ years of your life and the wise council, gifts and love you gave us!
