LIFE ANNOUNCEMENT: I’m very honored and excited to announce that on December 1, 2018 I will be the new Group Fitness Manager for Equinox Highland Park! . A year and 3 months ago @all.things.elliott and I moved from Oklahoma City to embark on a life mission. We chose to leave the security of our corporate jobs to pursue our crazy passion in fitness and decided to move to Dallas. After moving here I worked at multiple studios trying to interview with as many as I could. And while some worked out, many did not. I hustled hard, worked relentlessly and strongly feel that working @beyondstudiosdallas and @equinox really strengthened me both professionally and personally in many different ways. . Time has value and should be spent to its full potential . Lately, I’ve been trying to meaningfully fill my time with reading, research, discussing my thoughts and studying a variety of topics to expand my existing knowledge . A study was conducted looking at fish brains and their neural connections. Scientist looked at fish that were born in captivity and fish that were born in the wild. The fish that were born in captivity had limited neural connections with the lower brain functioning whereas the fish that were born in the wild had higher brain functioning and more neural connections . Give your time more value. You’re not born in a box so don’t shelter yourself or your mind. We can be our own worst enemy at times and that can literally be so destructive to our mind, body, spirit. Sometimes we beat ourselves up with ideas that “I’m not smart enough” “I’m not good enough” “I’m not enough” . Shifting our mindsets is a practice and a process. It’s more than just looking at yourself in the mirror and telling yourself you’re more than enough. It’s believing it without the mirror. It’s knowing and feeling. . When you start to slip into this mental state take a moment to breathe, go for a walk to clear your mind, play with your pet, talk with a friend.
