Ok so the verdict is in on the @makita.ca
DHS780Z Brushless Circular saw. I had a lot of high expectations for this saw and honestly it hit most of the points. Smooth, sufficient power, cut depth, rafter hook. These are key ingredients to a great saw. Is it the most powerful, no. Still falls short of the flexvolt but definitely has the ability to get the job done with ease. The cut dept of 2 9/16ths is money. No rolling the saw over tji’s. As much as I like this saw there are a few points that are irritating at first. The safety button is smaller, I would have preferred to see the same one as the rear handle or a paddle design. The guard lever is tiny. That I am not a fan of but I understand it is to not interfere with the dust port. Last thing is the rafter hook. As much as it works perfectly I find I it gets in the way when trying to use 2 hands on the saw. None of which are deal breakers on the saw just observations. All in all killer update from the brushed model that was released some years ago.

Fasco Strip Nailer F58A CHN33-90B SCRAIL
Last week I received this nailer from Fasco to put through it’s paces and give my thought’s on it. You probably remember me posting about it from Stafda a few weeks back.
First off the gun is solid lol you can feel when you are holding it and firing it. This accepts clipped head paper collated nails and a Scrails. The action of the gun is a little different then I’m used but a few shiners later and I got a handle on it. This brings me to the first thing of gun I am not a fan of and that is the trigger design. In my opinion it is too small and has no ergonomic design to it. Just a little lip on the bottom of the trigger will solve this problem. Doesn’t effect the function of the nailer itself just a observation. It does have a nice one touch trigger lock out. Now let’s talk about the handle on this bad boy because I have mixed feelings. It’s a 50/50 on good and bad. This is simply because it’s handle is 50% covered. The back of the handle has a nice inset rubber grip and the front has nothing. Little confused with that one even though it is a comfortable size. Another area I have mixed feelings for is the hook set up. The hook is big and sturdy and is actually made by a company I haven’t seen in years now, called Gunook. My concern even though being happy to see a hook is that there are so many parts to the lower setup of the hook. Not a huge concern but having used this hook in the past I am well aware of its weak spots. This is all good as long as you follow this simple saying “don’t drop the gun”. Again not a deal breaker but an observation. All in all it’s a real good gun and just I’m my opinion needs a few little tweaks.

So by now I am sure this company or set of bags really doesn’t need an introduction but here it is anyways. These are the @diamondback.toolbelts
Grrande’s and they are just that. They are on the 6” belt with the Diamondback Economy Suspenders. I have been wearing these bags all week and what can I say. They are indeed large. If I hear anyone complaining about not being able to get there hands in there you might be a little offside😂. This is a very nice wide open mouth bag setup if that is the bag style you are indeed after. Very simple layout with fasteners in mind. There is a small amount of tool organization in the right hand pouch. Let’s just call it a functional amount. The new Tape holder is a wicked and love the new design. My only thing is I’m just concerned with the materials used on the bottom of it. Maybe it is nothing but I am just afraid of a material that has no abrasion rating being used for that area. I could be completely wrong but I doubt it. That being said the over all new design works great. The set up is made from the new OX and Mule bags and both still have your accessory setups on the backs of each bag for Hammer sleeve and or flat bar holder. I have one more place on a build where I think these will be helpful as I don’t need a lot of hand tools or a bunch different fastener’s and that is the roof. So I’ll do an update post after that.
So if you are indeed looking for a large open mouth set of bags they are available now. You can grab them from @atlasmachinery
online or in store. US guy’s will have to check your local dealer.

Well because I haven’t done this in a year and a bit. A post that isn’t tool related or work related. I am also a bearded man (if you hadn’t noticed) Just wanted to give a huge shout to the guy’s over at @educatedbeards.
A few weeks ago they sent me over a box set of their products and it was a truly awesome form of branding they did. If you watch my stories I’m sure you’ve seen it and my reaction to it as well. These are some legit beard products (beard wash not pictured) that have been my goto since I got them. So since I know there are a lot of you that are bearded and ask so go give these guys a look. Thanks Kevin for reaching out to me in the first place. #respect
