movement! Heart health is SO important - something I’m reminded everyday I’m at work. It’s a muscle we frequently overlook, or at least, don’t know how to properly keep healthy.
I’m a runner and marathoner, but also a nurse. Nurses and healthcare professionals? We tend to not be so healthy: long shifts, unhealthy cafeteria food, and sometimes working odd hours. It can take its toll!
Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a common, yet silent killer 💀. Prolonged, undiagnosed hypertension can lead to heart attacks, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and cause damage to other organs in your body. The worst part? It can be largely asymptomatic, meaning you won’t necessarily know you have it!
How can you reduce your risk of hypertension and have overall improved cardiac health? Moderate exercise 🏃🏽♀️, eat healthy 🍎, and NO SMOKING 🚭!
