Summer 2018 is the season of the birds. As my internship with Ventura Audubon Society comes to an end, I celebrated by visiting the @wfvz_museum
and had an amazing time. They have over one and a half MILLION eggs in their collection!! 🤯 My favorites were the Pygmy Owl, the taxidermy monotremes, and the California Condor.
Still feeling the good vibes from this weekend. Hiked over 30 miles and created some bonds with some beautiful people. #esrm #csuci #srirs
Stoked and proud of the work today. Before and after shot of some beach cleanup in a protected area. Western Snowy Plovers (threatened) and Least Terns (endangered) utilize this space for nesting and hopefully this will be a strong breeding year. Also in this before shot: three (seriously) mattresses, a skateboard, and an armchair. 😑 @surfridervc
Another reason my major is the best - our lectures happen outside! Today we saw the Freeman Diversion, which is managed by United Water Conservation District. We learned the difficulties of aquifer recharge, managing water diversion for ag and home use, and balancing need of water between wildlife conservation and ag use. #csuci #freemandiversion #watershed @ci.esrm @csuci #esrm
Happy Anna Howard Shaw Day!!! (Alternative caption: my love for you knows no limits.)
Birthdays are always for reflecting. Today I get to celebrate all of the people I spent this last year with, my accomplishments that I’m proud of, and what’s coming next. Here’s to 29!!
Happy birthday bub! I love you tons and tons!!!!!
Volunteered again today with @mountainstrust.
🌳 We continued to remove invasive plants for more habitat restoration. I also got to hunt for acorns, which will be tested to see if they can be planted for new oaks! @ci.esrm #esrmzone
