BABY CHRISTMAS TREES! This is what I see everyday I’m in Oregon.
Have you ever been to a Christmas tree farm? I once lived in Oregon and if you went to the countryside in the Willamette Valley, you couldn’t drive 10 minutes without running in one.
Western Oregon is a great place to grow Christmas trees. It is nice and damp with rich fertile soil. The joke about Oregon is that if you plant a tire, a car will grow out of the ground.
Anyway, these little babies will one day adorn your front living room. Treat them well. Decorate them with love. Water them. Smell their heavenly scent. And thank God for his wonderful gifts.
And what a wonderful surprise! So I was walking from the hotel to the Notting Hill station and on my way I come across this huge glowing corner.
Turns out, it was Churchill Arms in Kensington. It has 97 trees and 21,500 lights. Go ahead and check. I counted the lights myself.

That was my first question. Why is Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody adorning Carnaby Street for Christmas this year? .
First, let me back up. For those of you familiar with Carnaby Street in London you already know that Carnaby Street is a centerpiece of the West End (As in West End Girls by The Pet Shop Boys). Think money and shopping. Carnaby is in Soho and it is usually done up beautifully for Christmas…as is most of London. .
The answer is more Madison Avenue than Regent Street. A new film came out about Queen and it provided great publicity for the film and band. Band members, Brian May and RogerTaylor, and some cast members, from the film showed up for the unveiling. Remi Malek, who played Freddie Mercury and Lucy Boynton, who played Mercury’s long-time, friend, love interest, fiancee, were among the cast members that showed up. .
Note: I fell in love with Remi Malek’s acting while watching him in The Pacific by Tom Hanks.
The British do Christmas so wonderfully! America has Rockefeller Center. London has the equivalent of Rockefeller Center in just about every village of London. .
Take a look at Harrods! Absolutely gorgeous! .
This Harrods occupies a FIVE ACRE building! OMG! That is 1.1 Million square feet! Okay, imagine a 10,000 square foot house. Now multiply that by 1000. AND HARRODS IS STILL BIGGER! If you have a shopping addiction, this is the equivalent of living next to a crackhouse.
So, I thought Camden was soooo cool! Like I said when I fist posted about Camden, my first reaction was, “Yikes, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore Toto.” 😮
Anyway after the initial shock I grew comfortable with the place and was so excited to show it to my daughter. I mean, c’mon, she’s a teenager, she’s cool. Camden is cool. What could go wrong. “No, Dad,” my daughter protested. “it looks like a place that smells like pot.” “Yes, dear, the aroma of canibus does waft through the air.” 😂
Do you have a favorite Instagrammer? The other night I caught my favorite British Instagrammer in action. @swong1978
is a great source of information and a lot of my posts come from her direction. Tag your favorite Instagrammer and show them some love.
As a matter of fact. I do know the Muffin Man. 🧐
Can you tell you like a restaurant just by walking in and taking a whiff of the delicious aroma wafting through the air? 🤗
Yeah Max Lager’s is like that. Firewood 🔥barbecue sauce teases your nose as you sit at the old fashioned downtown Atlanta pub. There is also a really cool American flag 🇺🇸with 48 stars. ⭐️ Next time you’re in Atlanta. Stop in and treat yourself! Oh, and don’t forget dessert. I had the mile high chocolate cake. 😋 The guy next to me got the fried cheesecake! 🍰 That’ll do some damage.
If you are in London on a Saturday night, during Christmas time, take the tube to Oxford Circus. Walk down Regent Street, turn left on Foubert’s Street, right in Carnaby. Carnaby is the Rodeo Drive of London. Make your way to Knight’s Street for dinner. And then Finish by going to Piccadilly Circus. .
I promise you. It will not disappoint. .

She is the best when it comes to London.
The Europeans brought the idea of a carousel from the Middle East during the Crusades. Knights would toss balls to each other. This would build up their riding skills. The word carousel came from the Italian word garosello and the Spanish word carosella (little battle).
Rue de la Huchette is an old street of the Left Bank of Paris (Rive Gauche). Today it is a lively cornerstone of the Latin Quarter in Paris. If you’re looking for a Greek restaurant in Paris…Rue de la Huchette is your destination. .
If Notre Dame is on your itinerary, Rue de la Huchette is just a couple yards away. It is a bit touristy, but I really enjoyed it. As you can see I strolled down the place shortly after nightfall. .
If you ever saw the movie, THE LAST TIME I SAW PARIS with Van Johnson, Elizabeth Taylor and Donna Reed, it was supposed to take place in this area.
This is Charlie. He’s a very good boy. He’s still just a baby…only 13 months old. He has a bird pinned and won’t let it go. He will sit there and freeze to death if necessary so I can find my quarry. It is amazing how much a dog can love you. It is also amazing how much you can love your dog. I’ve jumped into freezing water for my dog when it has broken through ice…so has my brother and just about every bird hunter I’ve talked to. Yesterday, one of the folks next to me took an ice bath to save their pup. I can’t say I’ve done jumped into a frozen pond for any other creature. A dog’s desire to please is something we are completely unworthy of and getting a little chilly is a small return on the immense loyalty and devotion we are blessed with from these heavenly angels.
When I was in Camden I ate at the Elephant Head. .
My recommendation: Very Authentic. .
My next recommendation: speak slowly. 😝🤘
I asked the waitress/bartendress for a club soda with lemon, fish and chips, and the WiFi password. .
She held up her hand and shook her head to clear it of the clutter I had just dumped upon it, “What will you have to drink?”
One step at a time I guess. 😜
Rue de la Hachette is a very lively section of Paris. It was there I saw this girl diligently doling our smiles while making crepes. My favorite is strawberry but most people like Nutella. .
What is your favorite crepe?
Regent’s Park is just a short walk down the canal from Camden Market.
Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta was built for the 1996 Olympics. It was also a site of domestic terrorism that killed two people. Damage was minimized because security guard Richard Jewell discovered the bomb and cleared people out.
Texas A&M Flag Room. Texas A&M is one of two public land grant schools that has a full time Corps (meaning it has a military academy within the university). The other is Virginia Tech. .
In the early 60s A&M was so difficult to survive that the president of the university had to pull the seniors aside and said that if you run off all the freshmen we won’t have a university.
Have you ever seen a sporting event from a luxury suite? It is a bucket list item.
