I am very wrapped up in why I powerlift now and achieving my current goals, which are based around being competitive and less about how powerlifting makes me feel. I think it is important not to forget why I started strength training in the first place, because it is the same reason why I am a trainer and virtual coach. I see myself in my clients.
There are a lot of situations you run into through training for powerlifting that are synonymous with life. What you see in my transformation is more than adding mass and strength. I now know how to turn obstacle into opportunity, I have developed a growth mindset, and am more self aware.
My progress is the direct result of constantly doing the things that scare me over and over again. It was not linear, I had set backs, I did a lot of stuff wrong for years, but I never stop pushing forward. And guess what? I’m not done yet. The biggest challenges are yet to come.
