Heather here: So many textures! These pants for #Thor
are coming along really nicely.
I used a soft, flexible fashion grade vinyl for the top, a custom printed Spandex that I ended up flatlining with a cotton (the shapes of the pieces work with the bias to help it still stretch as needed), and an uber thin pleather flatlined with the same cotton for the chaps. There is still a long list of things left to go before these are done! Progress is slow, but oh so gratifying. 🤤🙃 Cording and some sewable foam accents still need to be applied, they need a waist band because for some reason I didnt draft one (derp!😬), and I still need to model and 3d print the doodads.

Heather here: While Beverly toils away under a hefty NDA, I have been slowly piecing together my Jane Foster Thor. I reached a stopping point on the second bracer when I sadly did not have the right size magnets for closing the cuff. But they are on order and should be here soon. ☺
The details were cut with my Cricut Maker with material settings for EVA foam at 135 pressure. This didnt quite cut the entire way through the EVA 70 I am using but close enough to not be an issue.

Heather here: In learning and honing new to me techniques for building, Ive been experimenting with my Cricut Maker as a resource for fine details.
Cricut recently released a new knife blade for the Maker, and also updated their materials list/settings. I discovered there was a setting now for craft foam and a separate one for EVA foam as well. The pressure setting for each are vastly different though and needed some tweaking to get it right, but once I did I was able to cut hours of time out of this process by cutting these knots for Jane Foster Thor with my trusty robot minion. There was still a fair amount of clean up and then application to the bracer base, but over all I am super impressed with the results. .
The base foam is 8mm EVA
The details are cut from 2mm high density foam with a deep cut blade and EVA foam settings on the Maker set to pressure 120 from 107.
Additionally the rollers were pushed out of the way to avoid marking the foam.
