We traveled to Boston a couple weeks ago, but didn’t eat any Boston Cream Pie!! We made our own😋Fun Fact - Cakes and pies were commonly baked in the same pans back in the 1800s, which is why it’s called a pie! It’s a yellow sponge cake, vanilla bean pastry cream, and chocolate ganache combo. ps HAPPY EASTER WEEKEND!🌼

The start of Fall makes us crave comfort foods! This is our Mom’s recipe for German pancake (aka Dutch baby). She made this for us all the time when we were kids. It made us feel super fancy, but it’s really so easy to make! Topped with lots of butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup (swipe to see🤤), what’s more comforting that that?! Ingredients:
2/3 cup flour
1 tsp salt
2/3 cup milk
1-2 heaped Tbsp sugar (optional)
3 Tbsp unsalted butter (cubed)
- Preheat oven to 425F
- Butter a 9 or 10” oven-proof pan. - In a large bowl, whisk eggs and salt until lighter in color
- Slowly add flour and whisk until smooth
- Whisk in salt, milk, and sugar until blended
- Poor into pan and scatter butter cubes evenly over batter
- Bake at 425 for 10 minutes, reduce heat to 350 and bake 5-10 minutes longer (until batter is set and edges are golden).
- It will deflate as it cools creating the perfect pockets for toppings! Top with brown sugar, powdered sugar, syrup, jam, fresh berries; whatever suits your fancy! YUM!
