Photo @tasneemalsultan The AlBalad is a historical area in the second largest city in Saudi, Jeddah. While the area has only been accepted as a UNESCO world heritage in 2014, investments in restoring the buildings and tourism have already taken place prior. Since it's a coastal city that has, for centuries, welcomed millions of visitors coming to pilgrimage and is also the major harbor for trade, the culture has always been special in accepting different ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. #jeddah #saudiarabia #unesco #albalad
Photo by @FransLanting A family of elephants is grazing its way across the Maasai Mara where even the largest animals are dwarfed by the immensity of the sweeping savanna landscape. For a totally different experience follow me @FransLanting and @ChristineEckstrom to see what happens when a bull elephant comes very, very close to our hideaway near a water hole. @natgeocreative @thephotosociety #Africa #Kenya #Elephants #Savanna #Wild
Photo by @brentstirton | Chinko, Central African Republic: A local man carries an American hunterโ€™s Bongo #antelope trophy from the jungle. In a complex interweaving, hunting and #conservation work hand in hand in #Chinko , the last truly wild area in embattled Central African Republic. This is one of the hardest places to practice conservation. Lordโ€™s Resistance Army fighters and Sudanese elephant poachers combine with constant armed pastoralist pressure to make life difficult for the small, heroic team who look after a wilderness twice the size of Yellowstone. Money from small-scale hunting has gone towards employment and also towards conservation. The #hunting is performed sustainably and was in place before African Parks began to assist the Chinko Preserve. Itโ€™s a scenario where hunters and conservationists work together to preserve one of the last #wild spaces.

Photo @andy_best // It's been fun exploring my home state of Idaho. City of Rocks is one of my new favorites. Now to go back and climb soon!
Photo by @chamiltonjames / Charlie Hamilton James - a mountain lion returns to her kill last night in Wyoming. She had killed a young elk earlier in the day and stashed it under a tree root in a ravine. Here she triggers a camera trap on her way down to the carcass. Her kit spent yesterday near the kill in a tree. They fed on the elk last night and left in the early hours of this morning. Shot on assignment for @natgeo society.
Photo @chrisburkard Using a floatplane to explore remote locations has always been one of my favorite ways to experience a new place. We would make day trips to the coast everyday in hopes of finding some waves, but unfortunately there were none to be found. We made up for it with the amount of fish we caught though. @e_sody

Photo byย @BrianSkerry. A Great White Shark swims near the surface - accompanied by an entourage of jacks - at dusk in the waters off of South Australia. Often portrayed as one-dimensional monsters, these animals in reality are far more complex than once believed. Researchers are slowly beginning to reveal portions of their lives, with certain behaviors including yearly migrations of thousands of miles, life spans of over 70 years, and adaptive feeding strategies. In the time ahead, more may be learned about the fascinating social behaviors of white sharks as well. To learn more about the largest predatory fish in the sea, check out the July 2016 issue of National Geographic Magazine (@natgeo ) for a story about Great White Sharks. Also, be sure to follow me,ย @BrianSkerry on Instagram for more underwater photography! @thephotosociety @natgeocreative #great #white #shark #power #beauty #grace #conserve #protect #marine #biology #nat #geo #australia #migration #nature #photography #photooftheday
