Wanting to ditch school and head out to some waterfalls in the mountains right now ✌ Also, sorry I haven't posted much recently, like I said: school... πŸ’
I missed waterfall Wednesday, so here you guys go πŸ’πŸŒŠ
Throwback to a winter sunrise two years ago; I really need to catch more sunrises like these this year β˜€
Did you know that this old mining structure is just outside of Nanaimo? It is called Morden Mines, and served as a hoist to lift coal from the mine below. The @tourismnanaimo Adventure 360 Team visited this location with @tracksoutdooradventures ,who taught us all about Nanaimo's history and origins as a coal town. This is my final post summarizing the experiences of the Adventure 360 Team, and I would like to thank Tourism Nanaimo, my fellow team members, and all of the amazing businesses and stakeholders who contributed to these experiences, and who make Nanaimo such an amazing place πŸ™
When is your favorite time to visit Tofino? πŸŒ±β˜€πŸβ„
I always lose track of time in this place ⏳🌲 As the river trickled by, and my camera snapped off long-exposures, I found a moment of respite in the forest. By focusing on the way the water moved over/around the rocks, and listening to the forest sounds, I was able to get out of my head and focus on the beautiful artistry of this place πŸŒŠπŸ“·
Who else needs to get outside when they're stressed? βœ‹
Why do we spend so much of our time stressing about things that are so small? The world is huge, with countless roads and oppurtunities for you to choose from, but so often we get burdened down with so many small worries, about school, money, careers, or relationships, that we become blind to the greater wonders of life around us. β˜€ If you feel stuck, try to find the smallest ways that you may improve yourself, and your situation, that you may get the snowball rolling πŸ’ͺ The best things in life usually seem to happen when you are moving, when you are pursuing growth and learning. So if I can leave you guys with anything today it is this: move forward however you can, don't let your burdens pin you down and drown you, and figure out the things that you truly value ✌
Definitely wanting to get out and shoot some more waterfalls soon πŸ’§
Two weeks ago, the @tourismnanaimo 360 team got to explore downtown Nanaimo with @tracksoutdooradventures - who taught us about the rich history of the Nanaimo area. One of the first locations we visited was the Nanaimo court house. Did you know that the architect of the building included his signature, along with the year the building was completed, in the facade of the building? 🏫
Tonight's sunset over Departure Bay didn't look so bad πŸ‘Œ
Following orcas through the Gulf Islands with @vanislandwhale 🐳 This day on the water, with the @tourismnanaimo Adventure 360 team, and @brackishadventures , was one of the best days of my summer πŸ‘Œ A big thank you to @monpetitchouxbakery as well for providing lunch! πŸ™
Life is tough; together we are tougher. If you are suffering, reach out and ask for help; you are loved, you have resources, and people will come through for you. Life is tough, but beautiful. Love you all and God Bless ✌
Have you checked out @humanityinart 's urban art wall in Nanaimo? On the corner of Commercial Street and the Old Island Highway, this wall is a collection of various art pieces by local artists, with a section reserved for public tagging. Last week the @tourismnanaimo Adventure 360 Team got an oppurtunity to visit this Nanaimo fixture and learn about it's development and the mission of Humanity in Art; this local initiative seeks to inspire community and understanding through art.
