And the winner is... Every single person presenting an award. Yep, before you start feeling sorry for the awardless presenters at this year's 70th annual Emmys Awards, know this: they're getting a free luxury trip to Kenya, among other plush incentives, just for handing out a gong, thanks to this year's impressive Emmys goodies bag. Prior to statuettes being doled out at LA's Microsoft Theatre, the awards show presenters get the opportunity to stop by a gifting suite, where they'll be lavished with flowers, electronics, luggage and seriously high-end travel experiences. Backstage Creations will be donating up to 50 gift bags at this year's Emmys Giving Suite, and luxury travel-related products and experiences make up a huge chunk of the booty. Kit Harrington, who'll be presenting an award at the ceremony, will be among the A-listers going home with a trip to Kenya, regardless of their award outcome. The three-night all-inclusive stay at The Luxury Safari Camp in Kenya is the best of the bunch. This will be a lavish safari experience with The Luxury Safari Company. Celebs can curate an elegant outdoorsy adventure, where they'll get to do everything from a Masai Mara safari and a scenic helicopter ride, to rhino tracking and sleeping under the stars. Why did Heritage Tours — a 24-year provider of custom-designed trips to Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Africa, Israel and Jordan — recently open Thaalab Sahara, its own private luxury desert encampment in the Northwestern Sahara Desert in Morocco, near the village of Merzouga and the dunes of Erg Chebbi? First it's because the beauty of emptiness. “First and foremost, is just the stunning beauty of your surroundings,” says Mike Korn, senior manager of Morocco for Heritage Tours. “the orange-hued dunes of Sahara. There’s an emptiness to it, and there’s a beauty in the emptiness. You arrive there, you ride some camels amongst the dunes. They’ll take you up to the top of a high dune that’s near the encampment. Most people will just sit there for the sundown, for a couple of hours, taking it all in.” It’s a place you visit not because of what is there, but because of what is not there. Second the luxury in the wilderness. Heritage Tours' desert encampment consists of three tents on concrete blocks that house a maximum of six guests. Thaalab Sahara was created “to offer guests an authentic desert camp experience while still providing elevated service, comfort, and cuisine,” according to the company’s marketing collateral. Lastly getting there is part of the fun. The seven-hour drive from the city of Fez is not just a matter of transportation from here to there. It, too, is part of the attraction. “It’s a unique place,” says Korn, “like a Swiss Alps town with slanted rooftops and little cafes plopped in the middle of Morocco. If you looked at pictures, you would never think it was in Morocco. It’s one of the few places that gets a decent amount of snow in the winter, and there’s a ski run there. The king owns a palace there and his family loves to go. A lot of wealthy people have summer homes there. It’s cooler in the summer than in the big cities.” Photos courtesy to rightful owner
The Nigerians are creative. This luxury Keke Napep [Tricycle] was made by an Igbo man and he pushed it up a notch by making it comfortable and aesthetic with the intricate leather and plastic interior. A few months ago, another man had innovated an environmentally friendly electric Keke. It carries 3/6 passengers with electric fan and good ventilation. Also have reliable water cooled single cylinder 4stroke engine. It is really high time that investors take advantage before a 'sensible' foreign businessman swoops in. Senegalese leaders have long dreamed of building a new urban center amid mounting congestion and overcrowding in the capital city of Dakar. With a population that exceeds three million, the city plays host to skyrocketing housing costs and visibly high levels of unemployment. A new development promises to alleviate some of this pressure. After securing approval in 2013, developers are set to finish construction of Diamniadio, a $2 billion futuristic city less than 20 miles outside Dakar, by 2035. At the end of last year, the minister in charge of the project, Cheikh Kanté, said it was around 80% complete. When finished, Diamniadio will span 4,000 acres and feature an industrial park, state ministries entertainment facilities, and a university for around 30,000 students. The project will also provide a mix of luxury, middle-class, and affordable housing for around 350,000 residents. One of its principal projects, the Diamniadio Lake City(DLC), combines contemporary, abstract architecture with an homage to the nation's rich history and culture. Photos courtesy to rightful owner
