The ‘Pingtan Art Museum’ has been designed as an earthscape that floats on the water, expressing the type of ‘dream architecture’ that MAD / @ma_yansong_mad seeks to explore through its architecture — an architecture that is set to open up a dialogue with nature, earth, and sky, leading towards greater aspirations. A model of the ‘Pingtan Art Museum’ is currently on show in ‘MAD X’ - a year-long exhibition @centrepompidou that showcases ten of MAD Architects’ most significant projects to date. On now until April 2020. .

It is always good to be surrounded by the Yale community. Last night at the Yale Center Beijing, @ma_yansong_mad discussed MAD’s architectural ambitions in response to the question: “What will cities of the future look like?” Thank you to everyone who came out.

Museum as island, architecture as earthscape. Solitary. Surreal. Like looking over the edge of the world. — The ‘Pingtan Art Museum’ by MAD Architects was designed for Pingtan, the largest island in Fujian province. The museum has been conceived as a smaller-scale island connected to Pingtan by a slightly undulating pier — bridging the artificial and the natural, city and culture, history and future. In its totality, it is expressed as a long-lasting earthscape in the water. A model of the ’Pingtan Art Museum’ is currently featured in ‘MAD X’ - an exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, that showcases 10 of MAD Architects/@ma_yansong_mad ’s most significant projects to date. On now until April 2020. 📷Kenya Hara

#Repost @andrejcie ・・・ I recently visited Paris again. Everyone who’s been there knows that the city is beautiful. During my stay I visited the exhibition MAD X by MAD Architects at the Centre Pompidou. At the MAD Architects exhibition you can have a look at different models of their buildings from around the world .. As you know I'm a big fan of modern architecture and I'm excited to see one of their buildings soon with my own eyes. If you have time you should visit the exhibition in Paris. Really interesting how our cities of the future will look like. @ma_yansong_mad @madarchitects #mayansong #madarchitects #madx #centrepompidou #paris
Since its completion in 2012, the ‘Absolute Towers’ by MAD Architects/@ma_yansong_mad has stood as a landmark for the city of Mississauga — a burgeoning suburb outside of Toronto, Canada. Responding to modern city living, the towers eliminate the barriers of traditional high-rise architecture. With floor plates rotating at different degrees at different levels, the sculptural, sinuous design features continuous balconies which offer 360 degree views for each residential unit, getting city dwellers back in touch with the nature that surrounds them.
A model of the ‘Absolute Towers’ is currently on show in ‘MAD X’ - an exhibition at the Centre Pompidou, Paris that showcases ten of MAD Architects’ most significant projects to date. ‘MAD X’ is on show until April 2020, Room 28, Floor 4 Centre Pompidou, Paris, France.

#Repost @harimaolee ・・・ During the Europe trip last month, I also visited the exhibition of MAD architects in Centre Pompidou. They showed their models of the masterpieces. For me, Absolute Towers in Canada is my favorite favorite spot and I wanna visit the real building someday! I hope you guys have a look and get the inspirations there! #mayansong #madx #centrepompidou #madarchitects #paris
MAD/@ma_yansong_mad ’s design of Terminal 3 at Harbin Taiping International Airport manages to establish an architectural program that is human-scale, and provides a multi-sensory experience that is also efficient and energy saving. The scheme’s snowflake-shaped, five-finger departure corridors greatly shorten the time it takes for passengers to arrive at their gate, while also minimizing congestion and improving the overall efficiency of the airport apron. . . . . . #MADarchitects #mayansong #ariportdesign #architecturedaily #architecturelover
