dominated this weekend in Downieville!
Don’t sleep on the Forekaster, it’s much more than just a wet conditions XC tire! #Repost
2018 XC, DH, and All-Mountain winning set-up.🤘It was another great weekend for me and psyched to defend my title. Downieville is a really fun challenge because you have to use your head to figure out the best combination of equipment to survive a gruelling XC climb and descent as well as a long pounding DH the next day. It’s always a compromise and tactical game where making it to the finish line with air in the tires is always a challenge. I definitely knew the @yeticycles
SB100 was going to be a sweet down-country bike for this event and here is how I set it up. Total weight this year was 25.25lbs.
all new XTR w/ 32 x 10-51 drivetrain. 180/160mm rotors. Big enough gear but probably run bigger chainring when available next year.
SC34 120mm w/ 3 volume spacers 80.5-77psi, Float Rear Shock w/ 180-176psi, 125mm Transfer post
2.35 ForeKaster EXO TR front, 2.35 Ikon EXO TR rear tires. 21-22.5/22.5-24psi pressure day to day. Ran a little more knob in front with the looser conditions this year.
Podium front, Crest rear wheel set with Race sealant.
740mm bar, 55mm stem, Turnix 132mm wide saddle
DSP 32.3mm grips
chain guide, pump with EDC tool and tire plug kit
Dry Lube and cleaning products to get the bike dialled between days.
- 3 @camelbak
bottles of @guenergylabs
Grape Roctane to get me through XC and just a few sips during the 45min DH.
- wore my @oakleybike
ARO3 helmet, Flight Jacket glasses, and @garneau
Course racing suit for lots of aero tucking out on course.
Thanks to @sierratrails
