50% of you won’t read the long caption. But it’s good, I promise! 🤨
Choose love. I’ve heard this catch phrase so many times, roll my eyes and go about my day.
“I’m an introvert. I hate people - why are they so stupid?” All excuses I tell myself. I’ll look at a Facebook or IG profile and have a judgement within 7 seconds. What is wrong with me?
Howard Thurston was an amazing magician in the early 1900’s that traveled around the world, performed for 60 million people, and made over $2M in profit ($50 million today)
Other magicians during this time looked at their audience as a bunch of suckers and fools.
But Thurston was different.
He LOVED his audience. He was grateful for everyone that paid to see his show. In fact, every night before he stepped on stage, he repeated to himself “I love my audience. I love my audience. I love my audience.” He then clicked his heels and turned into a 🐸, but that’s not the point. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He chose to love. He didn’t need to hate or show judgement towards people he’d never met, and that outlook paid huge dividends in his life.
So I applied this concept the past week in Laguna at the @aretesyndicate
summit and was blown away. People I had pre-judged blew my mind. I was genuinely fascinated by their stories and came away with more friends and happiness as a result.
Amazing concept huh? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What good does judgement provide in my life? Will I become more successful through jealousy and spite?
No. All I’m doing is hurting myself when I allow those thoughts to creep in.
I want to constantly improve my life, my character, and my mindset. I’m finding the things I hate about myself and actively attempting to improve them. So next time you find me being a little bitch and NOT choosing love, call me on it. 🙏🏻👊🏼

🎶Let me tell you something bout my best friend. 🎶
Just kidding, we’re not besties. But I respect this dude. From sleeping in the back of his little vitamin shop to growing his companies into $200M annual revenue machines (and rapidly growing), it’s an honor to learn from the best.

Meet Abel. 6 y/o from Milwaukee.
I had the pleasure of sitting next to him on my flight.
We played Fruit Ninja.
Burrito Bison Launchca Libre.
And a host of others I can’t recall.
The point is not that I completely obliterated this child in every game he challenged me to, but that even on the Greyhound bus of airlines (@southwestair
) I managed to have an enjoyable time thanks to Abel.
He was loud. Excitable. Didn’t care about the dirty looks being shot in his direction. And made sure the flight attendant served him a regular coke, NOT diet. “Dave! What if she comes back and it IS diet?!! Wouldn’t it be funny if I stood up on my seat and yelled at her - I SAID REGULAR COKE!”😂 Thankfully, for her sake, she got the order right.
Kids are the best. And the worst. The end. 🤷🏼♂️👋🏻👋🏻
