Started of a new program this week ☺️. Can say ended on a high note. Haven’t been this sore in awhile. . . Hit heavy single at 771 off the blocks and in sumo 😤. Trying to get better every week. . . #learningbydoing #practicemakesperfect #powerlifting #legday
Still coming down from the great ride of powerlifting nationals. Here are some of my failed attempts that sucked in the moment lol but are going to be moments to learn from moving forward 👍🏾. . . . Attempts were 622 squat, 402 bench, and 750 deadlift. . . #learningbydoing #nationals #illbeback #powerlifting
“The key is not the will to win… everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important.”- Bobby Knight . . ***Long post alert*** . . Yesterday I achieved a goal that I had for over a year and a half now. I competed in the USPA nationals competition for powerlifting. I ended up winning both my age range (20-23) and the open (any age) 🥇🥇 for my weight class . I ended up taking home 2 first place gold medals for both categories and couldn’t be more happy. It’s not that I got the medals but the fact that I had a plan for over a year of trying to compete and win and I accomplished that goal, because a goal without a plan is just a wish 😤. . . All things considered I didn’t hit PRs in all my lifts like I wanted. My total was 1692.5 with squat at 585, bench at 380, and deadlift at 727(a new PR).I did however break the Ohio junior division state record for both squat and bench for my age range and ended up breaking the National and (World 🌎) record for my age for my new deadlift PR. These are tremendous milestones and I am proud I accomplished them. . . I want to thank everyone who came and supported me, or supported me from afar. Most of them don’t have social media, but I will shout out the people that helped the most with this process. I realize this is an accomplished goal but this isn’t the end only the beginning. Glory to the almighty 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. @myfamily @veganfoodincollege @thedirtygym @udpowerlifting @that_fittysquirrel_ for the cryotherapy recommendation . . . . P.S. Whenever you all are ready to try to sponsor someone or take someone under your wing let me know lol. @steficohen @thorbjornsson @juggernauttraining @realworld_tactical @realworld_tactical @ironrebel @kindafitkindafat_apparel . . . #uspanationals #uspapowerlifting #powerlifting #practicemakesperfect #nationals #kindafitkindafat #ironrebelpowergear #pickthingsupandputthemdown #champion

Couldn’t have thought of a better group of people to spend a birthday/ reunion weekend with. No matter how long we go without seeing each other I know once we all link up again it’s always a great time. Love y’all 💛💛#5yearreunion #familygoals

Had a fun time in Columbus with the old roommates. They definitely peaked in college.
Leg day leaves me sitting the rest of the day 😂, but gotta keep grinding 💪🏾. 3 by 1 at 535 for squats today. #everydaylegday #practicemakesperfect #tgif #nationals #powerlifting #squats

Blood couldn’t make us closer
Took a break from posting my progress but back at it strong 💪🏾 after Memorial Day 🙏🏾 🇺🇸 . Deadlifts for 5 by 5 @ 545 lbs. Last week before a short deload week before peaking starts for nationals. “If practice made perfect, I'm practice's baby”-J Cole Hitting the nationals prep hard with deadlifts for 5x3 @ 545 today. Took long enough but I’m finally a graduate of the University of Dayton. When you finally graduate after a full Fifth year you’re sooo ready to be done. I couldn’t have accomplished this feat without all these people in these pictures and they mean so much to me. Starting graduate school in the fall for engineering will be my next chapter, but couldn’t have started that chapter without being reminded how much the one I just finished up meant to me. P.S. had to wait to see a math grade before I posted this graduation pic😂😂.
Taking a break from studying from my last ever undergrad final tomorrow by getting some good leg work in. Big leg day with 3 by 1 at 495 on squats. Gotta keep the eye on the prize even during finals. Photo cred to my boy @_natebrown1 go follow him and his page @natebrownart #powerlifting #5thyear #nationals #powerliftingnation #squats
Started my nationals peaking program today. Started off strong with the deadlifts. Progressed with 3 by 1 @ 560 to 600 to finishing at 635. The grind to truly compete at nationals starts now 💪🏾😤🤙🏾. #powerlifting #nationals #powerliftingnationals #motivationmonday #nodaysoff
Wouldn’t have wanted to spend my last undergrad weekend with anybody else besides these strong people. The meet yesterday was a total success and Powerlifting formal was even better. P.S. I think Laylah is going to become a powerlifter in a future now 🤷🏾‍♂️. #formal #powerlifting #5thyear
Deadlift 2 by 2 at 600lbs Was not feeling it today because I have a lot of school related work I need to get done as the semester comes to an end. However, then I realized if you’re trying to compete at a high level you can’t just take days off 😤. #mondaymotivation #powerlifting #powerbuilding #pickthingsupandputthemdown #nationalsprep #powerliftingnationals
