PROTEIN HOT CHOCOLATE ☕️🍫 with a HEAP of mallows on top.😍 Yup, that’s mine.🙋🏼‍♀️ RECIPE BELOW 👇🏼 . I’m a firm believer in the old saying, “where there’s a will, there’s a way.”😉 And I want to WILL those marshmallows right into my mouth 🤣 so I make a WAY with a little protein-packing my hot chocolate!🤗 #Balance people 🙌🏼 . Bookmark this simple, macro-friendly, recipe...then head to my blog for 6 more of my favorite Healthy Holiday Recipes! 👩🏼‍🍳 . 1 scoop chocolate protein powder 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 3/4 cup water 1 heaping tsp unsweetened cocoa powder Stevia or Truvia to taste (optional) 1/3 cup mini marshmallows (optional) . 1️⃣ Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pot and pout on medium heat. 2️⃣ Stir consistently while mixture heats thoroughly, about 3 minutes. Scoop out a tiny portion to taste and test heat. Remove from heat and pour into mug. Sip and enjoy . Can we freeze time? ❄️⏱ Right now. Pause button please. I’ll even beg.🙏🏼These are certainly the good years…and I’m convinced they’ll never get better.❤️ . Our days might be long, but these years together as a family just seem SO darn short! In some ways I feel like I’ve been a parent my whole life…and in others I feel like I blinked and suddenly I’m “Mom” to a teen, a tween, and two more KIDS…not even toddlers anymore. What??😭 . I’m sure I’m not the only mom that pleads with her kiddos on the daily (especially Baby Ruby) to, “Stop growing up…pleeeeeeaaaassssse??” In her sweet little soft voice, she tells me, “But I HAVE to, Mom…” 👧🏼 Cue the waterworks.😪 . Yes, I’ve been rather emotional these days…and for good reason. With the holidays in full swing, it’s been hitting me hard lately that my babies won’t be babies for much longer, and things like the magic of Christmas (and life!) will become less magical.✨ But as much as it breaks (and worries) my heart to watch them grow, there’s nothing I want more than for them to live a FULL life spent spreading their wings and pursuing their wildest dreams.🦋🙌🏼 . So how do we make the most out of the quickly-passing time we DO have together? How do we ensure we are filling our littles’ canteens full of the best memories, the happiest days, and the most love possible to help carry them through life?🤷🏼‍♀️ . One word. TRADITIONS.🙌🏼 (Well…I have a lot of words, but we’ll focus on this today😉). . Whether it’s the silly daily routines (I’m looking at you Starbucks!) or the big once a year traditions centered around holidays or big family trips, I’m learning that THESE are the things that force us to savor time, enjoy each moment, and create memories that last a lifetime. THESE are the things that have helped shape US as individuals, and will indeed help shape our kiddos too!💕 . This topic felt ever-so-fitting for the last month of my 12 Months of Transformation. 12 hugs a day!❤️ Our teens NEED our love to thrive! Not only to feel good, but to reduce the risk of anxiety and depression, and to help improve overall mental health.❤️ Not much of a hugger? Start small with just one hug a day, maybe a shoulder pat, side hug…something to show your teen you care about them.🥰 . Just typing about this topic makes me quite emotional. As a mother of a teen myself (and one pre-teen!), I can vouch for the difficulty that it can be raising teens! I must say, I feel spoiled rotten to have the EASIEST teen alive with Matix, but gosh dang…I cry more tears of worry for that kid than I do any other child right now! This world is a scary place, and these teen years can be rough. . Am I doing enough? Is he okay? Does he feel safe? Is anyone hurting him? What is he thinking? Is he really as happy at my home as he says he is? What’s going on at school? Who are his friends? Am I teaching him well? DOES HE KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM????? . These questions PLAGUE me daily, and bring tears to my eyes at the mere thought of him EVER not being happy. . Anxiety, Depression, and Suicide are at an all time HIGH right now in this world, and I can only HOPE I’m doing all I can to help my kids avoid and/or navigate these difficult struggles. . When I came across my sweet friend @brookefmartin ’s post the other day, I cried as I read + tapped through her stories filled with information on this topic. It was the reminder I needed to SHOW MY TEEN (and teens to be) PHYSICAL LOVE AND AFFECTION! . Naturally, I had to repost. Because moms and dads…I know the road is tough. I KNOW parenting is the most stressful yet rewarding job on earth. I KNOW your kiddos well-being means as much to you as my kiddos well-being means to me. . Go watch my stories. It’s all fun and games til someone breaks a nose.👃🏼🤕 I guess that’s what happens when you engage in bedroom jiujitsu with your 200 pound husband in an attempt to teach your son to be tough.🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ Bad idea, Heidi...bad idea.😭 #HeadToHead = #HeelToNose 🦶🏼👉🏼👃🏼 . This actually happened late last night, but understandably I was too preoccupied managing my face to think of posting! The videos are going up on my story tonight if you want to see how it went down.🤪 No x-ray yet, so this all this is hypothetical at this point. But...I heard a pop, felt what seemed like my face caving in, and have some pretty darn good swelling. 24 hours later I swear I can still feel my heartbeat in my nose.🥴 Thanking my lucky stars it was my nose...NOT my teeth!!! I can always fix a broken nose. 👨🏼‍⚕️ But trying to put teeth back in is a whole different beast! 😬 . I’ll take all the tips I can get at this point. Do I go to a doctor now? Or do I need to wait until it heals a little? I’ve heard nothing can be done until it’s healed anyway...🤷🏼‍♀️ After some research on the nose structure, I feel like the location of the injury is MOSTLY on the upper cartilage where it connects to the bone, which would technically make it a “cartilage fracture.” Anyone ever experience this??

Posting this for no other reason than I just love this pic of us...plain and simple. I mean, how can you NOT love a photo of your man looking at you like a bacon-wrapped filet topped with blue cheese after a month on a deserted AND womanless. 🤤😍 . It’s nice to be in a good place these days. Stresses are high, days are long, and these years are tough...but for once in the longest while, we seem to have gotten our groove back, he and I. . I’m not sure if it’s an age thing, an I’m-too-exhausted-to-fight-you thing, or just REAL love and appreciation that we seemed to have lost touch of for a while. But regardless, I’ll take it and thank God for it. . Quite possibly though, all those things we’ve been through together that had us questioning whether or not we could defy the odds and endure the test of time, MIGHT ACTUALLY be the reason we are as strong as we are. Sometimes that’s hard to admit...because in a round about way it could be argued that this theory makes “okay” the conscious decisions that were made that ended up hurting one another. But then...maybe this is just how life works? . Maybe we ALL make mistakes. Maybe it’s that when can admit our mistakes, own them for what they are, and choose to face the music (consequences of our actions) in an attempt at righting our wrongs...maybe that’s when compassion and non-judgement are born. Maybe these THINGS (ie mistakes made and struggles endured) are the tools we are blessed with to truly CHANGE LIVES and positivity impact the world. . Maybe...just maybe...all these things were meant to be. And maybe our humanness isn’t over yet. We have more to learn, I’m sure. And with more to learn, we have much more room for growth. . Life is crazy...that much I do know. I also know there’s not a human on earth I’d rather experience the crazy (and his crazy) with. Just turn your sound on and get ready to melt...and maybe even shed a tear of gratitude with me over how dang pure and well-intended this little boy’s heart is. 💕 Now you see why “quitting” is not an option for me. With a sweet soul like his rooting me on, and coaching like this on the daily...I know I can reach the stars as long as I keep trying.✨ . This is what LEAVING AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP looks like. 🙌🏼 Yes, she lost 40 pounds and looks 💣.com...but that’s not what matters most. ✨ Our sweet friend Angela (and star of our newest #TransformNation episode where I surprise her alone!) overcame POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION and found happiness after courageously leaving a toxic relationship.💕 . If you can relate (whether physical, mental, emotional, verbal abuse), you know how TOUGH this can be! We’ve spent years being as unkind to ourselves as the abusers are now being too us. WE are the ones who set the tone for HOW we are to be treated, and we believe we deserve the abuse we endure(d).😔 . No matter who you are or what you’ve done, know that you DO NOT deserve anything less than love...not from yourself and surely not from anyone else.❤️ . When we love ourselves enough to let go of those that continually hurt us, our lives open up and suddenly we are capable of exceeding our potential.🌟 . Time to follow Brene Brown’s wise advice, “Be willing to let go of who you think you should be in order to be who you are.”🙏🏼 . Let go of the idea that you’re not good enough. We led a lesson in our coaching program the other day on the power of a very simple Random Act of Kindness. Whether it be buying a meal for someone in need, holding the door open for the elderly, paying a compliment to someone, or simply smiling at stranger. ❤️ No matter how big or seemingly-small the act of kindness is, the impact is tremendously large and powerful.✨ . Studies have proven that RAOK’s not only positively impact the person RECEIVING kindness, but also the well as the WITNESSES of the actions. . Kindness is easy, and it doesn’t cost a damn thing. Let’s spread it thick this holiday season. Starting NOW.🙌🏼💕🙌🏼 . Last year, I did the 12 Days of Kindness on my blog...and I’m thinking of doing it again leading up to Christmas.
