I think one of the reasons I love sunsets more than sunrises is because of this. Trying to navigate a foreign and unkind world with #autism
has been my whole life. Until recently I didn’t know why it was this way, but learning has begun to empower me to live my life in this world that I don’t understand. This world will likely not change for the better, but I can learn how to live in it better.
A sunrise is a symbol of a new day and new light. I know there will be many unkind people today. I know they won’t bother to try to understand me...but I have another day to understand myself and be with people that see me as better than I see myself. Each day I am closer to believing them. Each day has beauty and brings me one day closer to my sunset.
Love who you are blessed to be. Be kind to as many people as you can.

Sunsets are a favourite of mine, even more than a sunrise. I love the beauty and symbolism of the end of a period of light. The contrast between light and dark is a powerful teacher and motivator. Take the time to reflect on the lessons and progress you’ve made. See the beauty, ponder the good, acknowledge the bad/failures only to learn and grow. Embrace the darkness in its season, sleep, recover, start a new chapter...Love yourself as you grow.

Imagine what you could do, if you only believed in yourself!! Too often we allow the negative comments and opinions of others, hinder our potential in life. As a child and young adult, my husband was constantly told that he wasn’t talented, didn’t have athletic ability and sports were too dangerous. I can’t tell you how many times in his adult life that he has told me, “I can’t do that, I’m not athletic” or “I don’t have natural talent”.....well I call B.S.!! First of all, as a child, he taught himself to do a back flip into the pool. He hasn’t done one in at least 25 years or more. Today I videoed him doing a back tuck into the pool for the first time in 25+ years. I reviewed the video with him, explaining the mechanics of a back tuck and gave him a few small corrections. I then took a second video of him doing a back tuck. It was like night and day. I have coached elite level gymnastics for 16+ years and I can tell you, improvements of that magnitude do not happen without natural talent. My husband @rich_evanson
should have been a gymnast.

Handstand Progression (Part 1)
For anyone wanting to learn how to do a handstand or those of you wanting to improve on what you already have, we have put together some handstand Progression tips.
Here’s part one.
Start with a basic Elbow Plank to increase core strength and stability. Once you feel confident in your Elbow Plank move on to a regular Plank and then a hollow body hold.
After mastering the tight hollow body position, you can begin attempting wall walks.
To do a wall walk, stand 2-3 feet from the wall, facing away from the wall. Place your hands down on the ground in front of you. Hands should be just wider than shoulder width apart. Fingers should be facing forward (away from the wall) and comfortably spread for balance.
Lock your arms out (keep arms straight)
Engage your shoulders to bear your weight.
Keep your hands firmly planted.
Begin to walk your feet up the wall.
Walk as high as you feel confident and hold a tight hollow body position.
Practice this until you can hold a 30 second, tight hollow body position, with your feet as high up the wall as you possibly can, without moving your hands closer to the wall. *the goal will “eventually” be, to also walk your hands in, so that you are in a hollow handstand hold, flush with the wall.
