Definitely the first time Orson Welles’ The Other Side of the Wind has been on the Aero Theatre’s marquee. Most people would have thought this film would never be seen in finished form. F.X. Feeney calls it a film about “the death of a soul.” The film premiered at Venice. #orsonwelles

Remembering Robert Walker - or maybe discovering him today for the first time for some of you. #Repost @vintage.films_ with @get_repost ・・・ I cannot believe I missed Robert Walker's centennial yesterday! (Oct 13, 1918 - Aug 28, 1951). He is one of the actors I truly appreciate and respect, a true gem. He was such a magnificent actor, and kind hearted person. I adored him as the romantic WW2 soldier on 48 hour leave in 'The Clock' (1945). However, he gave his absolute finest performance as the manipulative and psychopathic Bruno Anthony in 'Strangers on a Train' (1951). It is a shame he passed away soon after the film was released. His colleagues has nothing but wonderful things to say about Robert. It's great his work is becoming more widely known and appreciative in this modern world. Happy heavenly 100th birthday! 🎂 - #robertwalker #happybirthday #hitchcockactor #anniversary #centennial #strangersonatrain #1940s #silverscreen #goldenera #blackandwhite #classicfilm #classicmovies #classichollywood #oldhollywoodstar #hollywoodstars #oldmovies #vintage #actor #1950s
The 24th annual Recent Spanish Cinema series closed last night with Gustavo Salmeron’s Goya award winning documentary LOTS OF KIDS, A MONKEY AND A CASTLE- a portrait of his large family with matriarch Julia at the center. The outspoken and free-spirited Julia inherited a fortune and purchased a castle for the family. Through his family he also shares insight into Spanish politics as both his parents were born during the Spanish Civil War and, in their 80s, lost their castle during the Spanish economic downturn. If you missed this sneak preview, we hear that the film that has made Julia a star in Spain, opens at Laemmle Theatres October 19. #spanishcinema #spanishmonarchy #spanishcivilwar #gustavosalmeron #spanishfilm #goyaawards #egyptiantheatre #recentspanishcinema #recentspanishcinemala #cineespañol

We got in on the magic of Beverly Luff Linn at last night’s sneak. We’re not giving anything away. You have to go see it when it opens in all its quirky glory. Thanks @plazadeaubrey & @mrcraigrobinson for sharing your stories about acting in this unique tale of love, ironic hairstyles, performance anxiety and HMMMMM HMMMM. Let it be know that if you want a recommendation for getting into director Jim Hosking’s earlier work you should see his short “The Doctor.” And who knew Craig Robinson had a flair for Scottish folk music.
