Happy Friday! Here's a shot from photographer and #AlphaCollective member @mydetoxtravel to celebrate the weekend! 🎉🎉 • • "It was a chilly morning at Spirit Island with gentle snow and a temperature of -5 degrees. We paddled in the dark from the camp ground to reach this location. When we got there, we waited wrapped in our sleeping bag for the sun to rise and warm us up." | a7R II | 16-35mm f2.8 GM | 16mm | 30 sec | ISO 1250 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha

Photographer @nateinthewild shares theses images from a recent adventure to the arctic to photograph polar bears using the new 400mm f2.8 G Master lens. "From the moment it was announced, I’ve been looking forward to using the Sony 400mm f/2.8 G Master. The lens set the photography world abuzz and, in my opinion, it established a new peak for what a super-telephoto prime should be. Over a full kilogram lighter than the competition, better weight distribution, three image stabilization modes, the fastest focus system ever – the list goes on and on. I knew the lens would be a game-changer, and I couldn't wait to take it out into the world for a hands-on test." (Read more below!) #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha • • "One of the most important aspects of wildlife photography is capturing the personality of the animal. This means being on the ground and eye-level to truly convey the behavior of these bears - taking shots from an elevated platform doesn't feel authentic. This photo is part of an in-depth look at the arctic world I did in partnership with @churchillwildsafaris. " | a7R II | 400mm f2.8 GM | #AlphaCollective
An insane view of Kyoto captured by photographer @yako_flpr3 🍁🍁 • • "This photo of Kyoto was taken at a wide angle to emphasize the view and contrast between the autumn leaves and the sky." | a7R III | 10mm | f22 | 1/10 | ISO 50 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha
Layers in Banff National Park captured by #AlphaCollective member @mrhollender 👉🏽 "The light is constantly changing when up in the mountains. This shot was taken well after sunrise when the preferred light wasn’t happening anymore. As the morning fog burns off and clouds shift the sunlight can do something spectacular things. Sit, wait and watch as things develop." | a7R III | 100-400mm GM | 400mm | f10 | 1/3200 | ISO 400 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha
Photographer @rafaelwien shares this view of one of London's iconic spots. Because the St. Paul Cathedral is always filled with tourists, @rafaelwien had to stitch together a series of shots to get this view without people walking. "This location is always crowded. For this shot, I used a tripod and made a few shots to mask out the people. That's a cool trick to get rid of people easily." | a7 | 14mm f2.8 | f11 | ISO 50 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha
📷: @zack_knudsen "Fall colors emerged a bit later than usual in the Great Smoky Mountains this year, but the lower elevation colors were super vibrant. I had this image in my mind since finding the spot during a summer hike and was excited when the conditions were just right during a morning in early November. Sometimes in photography it can be the work before the shot that is just as important as taking the shot in the moment." | a7 III | 24-70mm GM | 28mm | f9 | 6 sec | ISO 160 | ND Filter | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha
A set of images shared by #AlphaCollective members @lisabao and @tiffpenguin taken during a journey to photograph Vietnam. "The northern region of Vietnam is where we were most inspired to photograph because of its mountainous scenes and hillside vistas. This was also when we began to feel the most comfortable with our experiences and connection to the people. It was at this point in the trip we realized that even though we were raised in a different country, we found so many of our own strengths and characteristics mirrored in the people we were meeting everyday. We’ve been documenting our experiences along the way on our journey and can’t wait to share the full video soon!" | #SonyAlpha a7R III | #SonyAlphaFemale #BeAlpha
Reflections in Norway captured by photographer @swaypaul | a7R III | 16-35mm f/4 | 16mm | f/4 | 1/1600 | ISO 500 | • • "Not everything depends on the skill of the photographer and their camera, it also depends on weather and certain lighting. This photograph is the result of a successful set of circumstances.. I was in the right place at the right time." #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha
We are currently following photographers @tiffpenguin and @lisabao as they adventure through Vietnam to explore and document the country's landscapes and culture. #AlphaCollective member @tiffpenguin shares this shot of the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park's caves 👉🏽 "I've been wanting to explore the caves of Central Vietnam for years now. When we arrived at one of the largest caves in the world, it was pitch black inside and the lighting made it one of the most challenging things I've ever photographed. As we explored more, I was completely blown away by the unique landscapes in these giant caverns. There are many ways to capture photos in low light situations and understanding how light painting works can really help to elevate your shots." | #SonyAlpha a7R III | 16-35mm f2.8 GM | 20mm | f3.2 | 8 sec | ISO 320 | #SonyAlphaFemale #BeAlpha
Pro tip: If you plan on visiting this spot in Indonesia, be ready and prepare yourself for an quite adventure. Photographer @braybraywoowoo shares his journey getting to this photo spot 👉🏽 "My favorite part of travelling is getting off of the beaten path to find locations like this! I saw it on an Indonesian documentary in a cheap hotel room, while travelling in a different part of the country. I instantly knew I had to find it and do my best to capture its beauty. After a plane ride, a motorbike ride through the night, staying in a home-stay in the middle of the jungle, and being mugged by a monkey, I finally arrived at this sulfuric crater lake." | a7R II | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha
