Many visitors believe that the crown of the Statue of Liberty is a larger than life place, being that the Statue is larger than life. ⠀ But in reality the Crown can only hold about 10 people comfortably at a time.⠀ ⠀ Have you visited the crown? What do you remember about it?⠀ ⠀ #findyourpark #nps102 #nationalpark #shareyourstory #crown #crownies

There is something peculiar about the Annie Moore Statue. We've noticed that her pockets are full of change. This is a new phenomenon here and we couldn't find an explanation until we got some information from her sister statue in Cork, Ireland. ⠀ Visitors to the Annie Moore statue in Cork place coins in the pockets of both Annie and her brothers for good luck. ⠀ We guess the tradition has transferred to our statue here. ⠀ Hope it brings people good luck. ⠀ ⠀ #findyourpark #nps102 #nationalpark #anniemoore #irishamericanheritage #luckoftheirish #womenshistorymonth
On this Day in 1885, Joseph Pulitzer launches a campaign to complete the Statue of Liberty’s pedestal by publishing a front-page editorial in his newspaper, The World. ⠀ Within 30 days he receives more than $25,000.00 in donations.⠀ #findyourpark #nps102 #nationalpark #onthisday #OTD
Today is National Shoe the World Day and boy does Lady Liberty have a big shoe! If The Statue would need new sandals they would have to be a Women's size 879!⠀ ⠀ #findyourpark #nps102 #nationalpark #nationalshoetheworldday #soles4souls
