Tessa Thompson

Oh to live in an @autumndewilde photograph (I’ve long wanted to!) & in @rodarte creations. What a dream! To see the rest of the collection of garments and ladies, see the link in my profile. Thank you Kate & Laura for being such an inspiration.
My character in Sorry To Bother You is named Detroit. And this is a latte of her face. Also, @annapurnapics bought the film and that makes me happier than this beverage initially did. Which is really v happy. || latte art: @baristabrian
Got this sweater custom made (@linguafrancanyc ) to celebrate filmmakers I admire (who happen to be women) and wore it proudly to the @refinery29 Women at Sundance brunch. TODAY In honor of #femalefilmmakerfriday scroll for some images from the sets of my next two films, both with women at the helm. LITTLE WOODS by Nia DaCosta (@niafromthecoast ) & FURLOUGH by Laurie Collyer (@lauriecollyer ).
Such an honor to speak yesterday at the #RespectRally at Sundance alongside such icons. I met Gloria Allred too! Really loved what @janefonda had to say about the importance of organizing in our communities. Everyday I’m learning how to better do just that.

Took the whole day to rest and reflect. We have so much to do to honor the ones like Martin and Coretta and, and, and—— we have work to do.
One Hearty Thank You to @annapurnapics for being the best co-host of the LA #TIMESUP Golden Globes viewing gathering. We worked, we laughed, we cried— we continued to practice sisterhood and community in the spirit of change. And we celebrated what an incredible time this is!
TOMORROW. Whoever you are, wherever you are— whatever you are doing— WEAR BLACK in solidarity. Because #TIMESUP on the imbalance of power. We all deserve to be safe and seen. Tag photos of yourself, friends and family IN BLACK so we can amplify you! @timesupnow
I stand with women across every industry to say #TIMESUP on abuse, harassment, marginalization & underrepresentation. Join me! Link in bio to read the letter of solidarity we wrote & donate to the @TIMESUPNOW Legal Defense Fund: http://timesupnow.com. This will provide subsidized legal support to people across industries who have experienced sexual harassment, assault and abuse in the workplace. I donated! You can too!
Been taking an unintentional break from posting (and all the insta adulation/agitation/engagement it supplies). Then I saw this (because I’ve been creeping 👀) and realized why and what for. Words: @falling_n_laughing Via @femalecollective
In awe. Thank you for all the birthday love yesterday. Incredibly grateful to be alive. Also: 5 is my favorite number.
