Day 11 of my 12 days of Christmas cookies/treats! ⭐️ hope you all are enjoying the posts so far! Fruit cake has been part of my family for a long long time! My grandma, who lives in London always has homemade fruit cake on her table every day! She has a piece as snack with tea in the afternoon ☺️ so naturally all her kids, and grandkids love fruit cake! I make a mean fruit cake every year and this year I converted the recipe to a Fruit Cake Shortbread! The fruits are macerated in brandy or rum - and then, added to a shortbread dough with vanilla and rum extracts, shaped into logs, chilled, rolled in red sanding sugar, sliced n baked! If there is one cookie that you want to try this year, pls try this one, it is simple divine and highly addictive! Day 10 of my 12 days of Christmas cookies/treats! ✨ Rugelach! The dough has cream cheese and butter, I also added spices and orange zest, because winter! The filling is inspired by middle eastern flavors. It has my homemade - Apricot and Rosemary Jam, recipe is on @sunsetmag Website, halvah, finely chopped walnuts and a drizzle of local floral honey! Day 9 of my 12 days of Christmas Cookies/treats! ⭐️ Not a cookie, but one of my favorite confections, nougat has a special place in my heart, with fond memories of trips to UK as a young kid, to visit my maternal family during a couple summer vacations! 😍 The candy stores were so much fun, and my favorite ones were nougat and licorice All Sorts! I still get the same ones when I encounter a candy store! So I made Tropical Nougat, inspired by my upbringing in Bombay, and eating all the tropical fruits! This nougat has dried pineapple, dried papaya, dried mango, candied ginger, pistachios, almonds and cardamom. Nothing beats fresh nougat😍💕 Recipe on the blog, link in profile ✨ #christmastreats
Day 8 of my 12 days of Christmas cookies/treats!⭐️ Macarons! So fun to make once you get it right, and so fun to try different combinations! One of my favorite cookies to make! These are Cranberry Macarons with cranberry extract powder with a Gingerbread Buttercream Frosting! It is an explosion 💥 of flavors in one bite! The pipping is royal icing, and I used @fancysprinkles for a sparkle, cause I am all about glitter and sparkles this season 😂✨♥️ We had fun making these! Day 7 of my 12 days of Christmas Cookies/treats! ⭐️ Shortbreads are a must for the holidays! If you have seen Fanny’s @oh_sweet_day ‘s gorgeous feed, her shortbreads look absolutely delicious! She sells her beautiful bakes at her local farmer’s market. When her debut cookbook “Oh Sweet Day” was out, I was so excited to receive this book from her, cause she shares her bakes in her stunning book! These are Lemon Lavender Shortbreads - flavors I simply love! 😍💜 I gave them a festive touch with a swoosh of edible gold paint! ✨ Buttery, delicious cookies that are perfect for the holidays 😍 Fanny graciously let me share the recipe on my blog! Day 6 of my 12 days of Christmas cookies/treats! ⭐️ Chai(tea) and Chai masala(spices used in tea) are an essential part of my life! I cannot start my morning without these two! This petit cookie that I created has everything I love! Chai masala, chocolate and eggnog! It is a Chocolate-Chai Masala Thumbprint with Eggnog Buttercream, with a touch of gold on the top! Day 5 of my 12 days of Christmas cookies/treats!😍 peppermint cookies are a must for the holidays! And when I saw this recipe in my friend Rebecca’s @displacedhousewife debut cookbook “The Cookie Book”, I had to make them! They are Tai Tai’s Peppermint Sandwich Cookies and they are absolutely scrumptious and Uber delicious !!!! 😍👌 Co-incidentally Rebecca did a @williamssonoma Facebook live with these cookies and I learnt that tai tai means wife in Mandarin! 😁 These cookies were an absolute hit with my kids!! Bring on all the HOLIDAY grazing boards like cheese, appetizers, desserts – you name it! 😛 I love grazing boards, as they are great conversation starters. I am so excited to partner with @domenica_fiore , to bring to you this absolutely delicious Olive and Artichoke Tapenade that is the center of this cheeseboard! 😍 The tapenade is made with green/black olives, capers, artichokes, garlic, parsley, thyme, and the Domenica Fiore Novello Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which is super fragrant and was made from the first olive harvest in October of this year, meaning it’s super fresh! The tapenade goes well with a variety of complementary items like: fig and rosemary crisps, bread sticks and French baguette! Here are few of my favorite tips for a delicious cheeseboard: First start with a variety of nuts. Here I have truffle marcona almonds. Sweet peppers and olives are a must! I also love make-your-own crostinis, which requires an amazing spread – tapenade like the one I have mentioned here, made with the Domenica Fiore Novello Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Dried fruits like apricots and dates are a great addition. Fruits add color, and freshness to the board. Cheeseboards are simple to put together with a few quality ingredients, and fantastic to WOW your guests!😍✨ #MyDomenica #ad
Day4 of my 12 days of Christmas cookies/treats! 😍 Biscottis make fantastic gifts to box! They keep well and transport well! I love making biscotti and love having them with espresso yum 😋 You can switch up the nuts and dried fruit in it but I love this combo for the holidays! Day 3 of my Christmas cookies/treats! 😍✨ These are Chocolate-Marshmallow-Walnut Fudge with Sea Salt from @jessiesheehanbakes “The Vintage Baker” cookbook! They are fudgey, chocolatey, nutty, goey delicious and make perfect gifts for the holidays or for parties! 😁 Petite bite size treats - that are easy and so delicious! I subbed the walnuts with almonds cause my kids are mehh with walnuts. 🤷‍♀️ The Cookbook is a wonderful collection of modernized vintage recipes and such a fun book to have!! Day 2 of my 12 days of Christmas cookies/treats! 😍 These are Chocolate Ginger Molasses Cookies, with chopped dark chocolate and candied ginger in it! The more ginger, the better it is! Day 1 of my 12 days of Christmas cookies/treats!!! 😍 ❄️ I am starting off with simple Star-Anise Snowflake Sugar Cookies with royal icing and sparkles! Star Anise is such an underrated spice and they add a beautiful licorice flavor to this cookie! I simply take whole star anise and grind it in a coffee grinder and use the fresh powder! Sooo good !!! I am so excited to kick off 12 days of Christmas cookies/treats starting tomorrow, on the first day of December! 😍✨ I have been working on this for a while now and really excited to share it with you! I wanted to do this since the past two years but I did not plan/organize properly. This year I got organized and I am so happy with how everything has turned out! I hope you enjoy the 12 days and try some of the treats as much as I have had fun baking/making them! ☺️💕 I might have a bonus recipe too 😝 . Here is one of my favorite creations and one that has been very popular on my blog and made by so many! It is my take on the popular Scottish Shortbread, with an Indian fusion version : Thandai shortbread cookies dipped in white chocolate, topped with chopped pistachios and a dusting of dried rose petals!🌹🌟 Thandai powder is a nut and spice ground mixture with all the warm fall/winter spices like star anise, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg. This was my first lifestyle shoot that I did last year, where I threw an International Thanksgiving Brunch for my dear friends with dishes from round the world. I was really happy with the way everything turned out! I was sad I could not do it this year because of other commitments. But there is always next year! The sage pine nut pesto is made with the Domenica Fiore Novello Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which is super fragrant and was just made from the first olive harvest in October of this year – ready to enjoy just in time for the holidays! 😋 It is bright green in color with notes of fresh-cut grass, chicory, tomato leaves and cardoon.
