Back in October I opened @thenookbaltimore
with my partner Jane, a project we have been working on for one exact year before opening (the hardest secret to keep *ever*). I’ve never worked so hard, been more exhausted, and never been more happy and proud. This is not easy and the restaurant industry is FAR from glamorous (Scott refuses to go out in public with my grandma comfort shoes 🤦♀️). The Nook is our baby and our customers and clients are our pride and joy.
I have so much to share with you. Recipes, behind the scenes, lessons learned (and learning) as a business owner and much more. I promise I’ll get there 🤞🏼 In the meantime, my blog will be up and running with tons of yummy recipes, and I’ll be over at @thenookbaltimore.

short rib beef & barley stew (although we have to call it something different because of our barley boots 🐶😅) is cooked low and slow and has some of the most intense flavors, perfect for fall 🤗 the trick is a lottttt of stock, taking the vegetables out and adding them back in just before serving, and cooking the beef in the stock for hours on the stove. my kinda comfort food! #comingsoonmaybehopefully

Verrrrry guilty of buying store bought pesto throughout the year (yes even summer 😲) but who blames me when it comes in bulk at the little Italian market and lasts ~forever~ in the freezer 🙈anyways, if I do make pesto it's not basil, it's mint & pistachio and it's almost always for lamb 🤓better yet, feta crumbles get folded in and now it's perfect atop any roasted veggie! Note to self: ALWAYS add feta to the meatballs (especially lamb!) 🤤 these will be hitting the blog soon with other yummies (like mint and pistachio feta pesto 😩) Also, some exciting news! Tomorrow starts day 1 of 30 for cafe renovations 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 be ready for mega stories and pics!
Where are my fig lovers at? 🙋 figs are officially in season and I pick them up whenever I can. They're perfect roasted with honey and stirred in yogurt with granola, which may or may not have inspired these fig cheesecake bars with oatmeal crust 🤗 recipe hitting the blog next week!

Dinner inspo here! 😛 sweet & garlicky grilled pork chops are so simple and flavorful, they are perfect for any side dish (hi snap peas or cauli fried rice 👋🏼) here's what you do 👉🏼 chop up 3 cloves of garlic and a 1" knob of ginger, mix it with 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce, 3 tablespoons honey, 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, and some Sriracha for heat (optional), marinate for 1-2 hours, season both sides with salt/pepper, then grill 6 minutes on each side for thick chops, 2-3 minutes for thin chops 🤜🏼🤛🏼 enjoy!

👋🏼👋🏼 I had a few messages requesting the recipe for these PB&J breakfast parfaits seen in the stories so here's how simple these little gems are 👉🏼 a big spoonful of peanut butter, another of jam, two big spoonfuls of greek yogurt, drizzle of honey, and sprinkle of oats (no measuring needed!) 💃🏼 these are Scott's favorite for breakfast so i bang em' out Sunday and have them ready for the week. Filling, protein packed, and YUM.
