Do not fly @british_airways
I have just had the most ridiculous experience with @british_airways
at Charles De Gaul Airport Paris attempting to fly CDG to LHR T5.
Boarding the plane I was told not only do I need to pay €75 for an additional bag, I was also instructed I wasn’t allowed to board with a poster I had, rolled up, in my hand. This poster happened to be from Roland Garros 2018 French Open and was a gift and, of course, worth a lot of money.
After much too-ing and fro-ing I am eventually allowed to board with my bags but not my poster.
I walk into the plane and it is 1/3rd full and boarding is complete.
Not only were British Airways attempting to make my bags too large for boarding to get extra money from me, they also demanded my poster be left behind and is most likely taken by their ground staff now and sold.
I am devastated by this as I am a frequent flyer using British Airways a lot for both business and pleasure. I can assure you that their long haul staff are excellent and have looked after me very well over the years. This event has put me off using them for short haul in the future and I will be looking to find a new company to use.
